Art Director Digital/Web

Looking for a great AD to work on everything from hi-tech to cupcakes. This is a killer opportunity to join a growing agency in OC. Our client is winning new business (and awards) left and right and they need someone who can jump right in and produce awesome work.

You:
2+ years experience as an art director
Integrated background (Print, Digital, TV, Social, etc.)
Highly conceptual
Entrepreneurial spirit
Able to turn projects around on a tight deadline


The Art Director is responsible for coming up with truly unique and creative ideas, and then executing at the highest level possible. Extending those ideas across all touchpoints—traditional advertising, digital, direct, social, mobile and branding is also a key component of this role. The Art Director also provides visual leadership within the creative department.

This position may include but not be limited to the below responsibilities:
• Working from a brief with a copywriter, generating ideas to present to the client
• Working on designs to produce an effective advertising campaign
• Managing projects and working within a budget
• Editing the final results for presentation to the client
• Managing accounts and projects, working within budget and scheduling requirements
• Commissioning specialists, such as artists and photographers, to work on projects
• Working with other departments to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts, and to coordinate creative activities
• Presenting final layouts to clients for approval
• Conferring with clients to determine objectives, budget, background information, and presentation approaches, styles, and techniques
• Training and directing staff members who develop design concepts into art layouts or who prepare layouts for printing
• Working with creative directors to develop design solutions
• Reviewing illustrative material to determine if it conforms to standards and specifications
• Attending photo shoots and printing sessions to ensure that the products needed are obtained
• Creating custom illustrations or other graphic elements
• Preparing materials for typesetting or printing
• Conceptualizing and helping design interfaces for multimedia games, products and devices
• Preparing storyboards for television production

Qualifications:
• 2+ years of Art Direction experience with a strong traditional and digital background
• Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a must.
• The ability to work quickly to break through creative barriers to achieve the best possible solution
• A thorough understanding of photography, typography and printing
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Work well as part of a team, with a range of people
• An interest in social and cultural trends and fashions.
