Vitamin T's client, a busy creative and advertising agency, is looking for an energetic and creative Art Director to help them with full-time (40 hours a week) freelance work. This could become a temp-to-perm role if the client is happy with the fit! They are located in the New Brunswick, NJ area. *It is required that you have a laptop for this role.*

This position will be part of a dedicated team of project management and creative professionals serving one of our largest accounts: a group of clients across a global pharmaceutical company. These include HR/communications directors/managers with diverse needs, including: websites, infographics, branding, and videos, as well as other projects.

This full-time position requires a skilled designer with the ability to think creatively and work effectively as part of a cohesive team. They work in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload requiring short turnaround times. Depending on deadlines, it will require some evening hours at times. But they also believe in having some fun! Primary Responsibilities:

- Conceptualize creative solutions that effectively communicate the strategic intent for each tactic within the assigned product(s).
- Develop graphic designs for various client projects.
- Oversee designers, provide direction, and check and approve work.
- Work closely with the account team to schedule and monitor all projects.
- Work closely with creative directors on various tasks.
- Collect electronic materials for output.
- Meet all production deadlines.
- Understand and maintain brand guidelines.

Secondary responsibilities:

- Advise clients on technical and visual issues.
- Facilitate input from clients and creative meetings.
- Assist in making presentations to clients.
- Assist in the training and professional development of designers.


- Minimum 5 years of design experience in an agency setting with bachelor's degree in advertising, communications design, or visual arts preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
- Exceptional Mac skills and thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics.
- Proven ability to manage challenging situations.
- Comprehensive understanding of art and design theory and technique, including composition, computer photo-retouching, image development, color theory and relationships, typography, perspective and space relationships, and page composition and grid structures.
- In-depth understanding of print production processes and techniques.
- Proven time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple activities and prioritize conflicting demands.
- Ability to understand the unique needs of many different clients across a variety of disciplines.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with co-workers and clients.
- Ability to mentor junior staff members.
