Our awesome client is looking for an Art Director to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to see your teams interactive designs reach and impact a national audience. Lead a team as well as work beside them to conceptualize and create quality user-centric digital designs for a variety of federal healthcare campaigns and initiatives. The Art Director is a key resource supporting and collaborating with the Creative Manager through the entire design process. This design leader will sit at the client site in Washington DC giving them intimate insight into the client needs, as well as the target audience of their future designs. This leader will be designing responsive and mobile high visibility websites, handing off UI designs and digital assets to the development team while maintaining communication to ensure the correct concept is delivered in the final product.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting with Federal senior staff to gather and document requirements for projects, including site requirements for desktop and mobile platforms.
• Conceptualizing and creating solutions to visually communicate concepts through design.
• Based upon the requirements, creating user-centered designs that ensure optimal usability.
• Managing other designers and upholding a high level of quality on design projects.
• Collaborating with Content, Strategy, User Experience, Section 508 Compliance and Development teams on design projects.
• Coordinating with the Development team to repurpose content to support new user-interface designs and layouts. Adding functionality to designs as needed.
• Working with Federal staff to integrate and test new display ads and web designs.
• Creating, updating, and providing oversight of design and graphic standards style guides and references for projects.
• Creating and/or updating documentation as necessary to support an upgraded site or assets (e.g., style guide, content creation guide, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Ten (10) or more years of experience designing high-visibility websites.
• Ability to produce and present a robust, creative, portfolio that has multiple examples of mobile or responsive websites.
• Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and InDesign.
• Current knowledge of and demonstrable expertise with web design trends and UI design best practices.

Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Graphic Arts.
