The art director provides creative thought leadership on a range of offline and online creative projects, and provides oversight to copywriter and design teams from briefing to creative delivery. The art director establishes the conceptual and stylistic direction for design/copy staff and orchestrates their work, as well as the work of production designers, photographers, illustrators, prepress technicians, printers and anyone else who is involved in the development of a project. The Art Director must be a master of communicating direction and decisions up to the Associate Creative Director and/or Creative Director as well as down to Copywriters and/or Designers. The Art Director reports either to the Associate Creative Director or to the Creative Director. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think out of the box to produce concepts and integrated campaigns across all media, in platforms including but not limited to, promotion, point of purchase, advertising, collateral and web. Takes direction from other Art Directors, Senior Art Directors and Associate Creative Directors as instructed, and integrates these comments into projects. Directs relevant outside resources/vendors in execution of creative projects. Helps ensure quality standards for creative product. Integrates comments from designated sources into projects. Participates in agency training initiatives and seminars. Stays current with industry techniques applicable to work development and execution. Presents work internally and to clients. Shares work with superiors on assigned projects.
