Art Director

The company group seeks an experienced senior designer and innovator with high-level visual and interaction design skills. The ideal candidate has broad and deep visual design skills, has decent interaction design experience as well, commands strong collaboration and high-touch execution, and succeeds through creativity, insight, and prompt delivery. Must be quick and geared toward execution. Is capable of managing and executing design and brand implementation across the entire product cycle. In addition, experience with early concepts and ideas, data visualization, mobile, a plus. Must be able to work hands-on and collaborate with art directors and peer designers as well as with program managers, general managers, development leads, within SBG and in outside business groups.

Our concepts and ideas come from a variety of sources, from product teams to our own personnel. Our work spans designing for Consumer and for Business. Our diverse UX team calls for a variety of skills and expertise. This particular project focuses on consumer creativity, painting, drawing, and has a great team to work with!

Additional Skills:
7 plus years’ work related experience required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a lead role. Good knowledge of user interface and functionality design required. Strong creative skills and ability to generate design ideas required. Great eye and hands-on skills. Must have a proven record designing and managing complete projects with consistent, cohesive, and appropriate visual and interaction designs at a professional quality level. Must be familiar with industry standards and trends. Advanced experience in partnering on usability studies, personae, user flows, wire-frames, style guides, navigational structures, and affinity diagrams preferred. Advanced knowledge of web technologies (i.e. Flash, HTML, and CSS) preferred. Fluency with standard design software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) required. Experience working with rich client or web applications preferred. ID experience a plus. Must have the ability to understand and integrate business requirements and customer needs and motivations into specific areas of product design to contribute to features and functionality. Ability to set and/or follow brand guidelines preferred. Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team required. Must have ability to own and drive projects. Portfolio review required. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Design may be required.
