Large Media and Entertainment company in Orlanda has an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for an Art DIrector to join their Experience Design team!

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Art Director, to oversee design development for Attractions and Exhibits. In this role, the art director will work directly with company staff and licensing partners to create theme parks, water parks, attractions and museum/science center exhibitions. Hands on design will be required, but most of the work will involve creative art direction. Attraction portfolio is themed to the brand's expansive and ever-growing list shows and characters as well as the overall brand. Oversight includes overall design look and feel, attractions, recreation, area development and branded elements. This new role reports to the Show Creative Producers, Attractions and Exhibits dept., and the brand Experience Design team.

Job Responsibilities:
-Lead the visual development of multiple projects of various scales simultaneously.
-Work with and collaborate with licensing partners and their teams to art direct the creative vision for multiple projects
-Clearly articulate design direction and convey it to project team
-Supervise fabrication and installation of attractions and exhibits
-Working knowledge of rides, show systems and architecture
-Work with Show Creative Producers for all in-house design projects to estimate design labor and schedule
-Once agreed upon, Art Director is responsible for providing design labor with correct coding for projects
-Ability to draw and sketch
-Ability to design and comment electronically using a variety of software
-Research and develop visual language to inform the design
-Ensure brand and visual identity is consistently applied to attractions and exhibits
-Comply with project schedules, budgets and contracts
-Collaborate with brand creative teams within the company
-Develop and maintain good working relationships with third party partners and licensees
-Ability to be flexible with work schedules, including weekends and holidays and travel domestically and internationally
-Understand theme park protocols

Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 8 years industry experience with versatility in themed entertainment, branding, story, architecture and technology
-Experience working with high visibility brands and developing strong relationships with invested stakeholders
-Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire both internal and external design teams that include designers, illustrators, colorists and draftsmen
-Be a strategic and creative thinker
-Strong negotiation skills
-Understand scenic techniques and construction to help in the implementation of the production design
-Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
-Organized with attention for details, diplomacy and cross-functional collaborative skills
-Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills, as well as listening skills
-Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, CADD, 3D modelling
-Deep familiarity of brand properties is a plus
