An international creative agency specialising in innovative digital and industrial design projects.
The agency was established in 1998, employs a high caliber international team of around 55 people,
and has demonstrated strong growth over the last five years. It is a quality-focused consultancy
working for leading international brands, crafting unique and exquisite user experiences
overarching product, interaction and service design. They develops brand-defining strategies
and takes pride in translating these into well-crafted design solutions. The agency takes particular
pride in the fact that a high percentage of their output goes to market with long-lasting impact
on the brand equity of their clients and their position in the market.

They are looking for an Art Director to join their UI/UX team on a freelance/permanent basis.

Purpose of Role:

As Art Director you will be responsible for leading the artistic aspects of multiple
projects, under the direction of a Director, for the creation, development, and refinement of
innovative and compelling user interface solutions that are in line with the design objectives
and goals of the agency, while understanding and achieving the needs of the client on each specific

Whilst primarily responsible for the combined brand and marketing ‘look and feel’ for their
digital projects, you will also become involved – to varying degrees as needed - in all stages
of a project, including research, concept development and preparation and delivery of client
presentations, both at the agency's own premises and where necessary travelling to client or other

Key tasks include but are not limited to:

• Creatively leading and managing the digital brand and marketing of multiple UI projects
• Ensuring the delivery of design work of exceptional quality on-time
• Participating in board-level client meetings, presentations and workshops
• Taking an active role in client liaison and supporting business development activities
• Managing the artistic aspects within collaborative projects with related agencies
• Actively engaging in growing the digital design team
• Building the brand, including web presence

If not directly engaged in project work, always seek tasks that add value to the company.
These include:
• Keep up to date on emerging technologies, designs and usability research
• Maintaining the company presentation documentation.
• Maintaining and improving the file structure and organisation on the server
• Researching new trends and developments relevant to other ongoing projects

Reporting and Co-ordination:

• Direct line reporting to the Director and Creative Director of UI

Periodic Reporting
• There will be periodic reporting and liaison with:
o Managing Director and Business Unit Directors
o Studio Manager and other operations staff

• Project-based liaison with Directors and other project leaders
• Vendor relationship and ad hoc reporting (for vendor renegotiation)
• Links with the operations staff in HR, IT Business Development, in-house Legal, and Administration

Responsibilities- Main responsibilities will include supporting client projects in all aspects by:

• Ensuring deadlines and requested deliverables are met to the highest level of quality, both for internal reviews and external presentations
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and colleagues in a professional and mature manner
• Ensuring the highest level of execution is delivered to the client and that work in
progress can be shared at any time of the project
• Leading designers to push the level of quality in both thinking and execution, constantly developing new ideas and ways of solving problems, even if project briefs are similar
• Considering the big picture and relating it to the requirements of each individual project
• Ensuring that your/ your teams’ work is properly documented, stored and archived
• Utilising team members according to their skills and to their maximum potential
• Supporting any other tasks as assigned by MD, Directors, or COO
