Apparel Operations Specialist

Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of Global Apparel Operations through the means of effective processes and strategy. Drive initiatives to support the department Mission and contribute to long-term operational excellence. Primary responsibilities include calendar inputs/communication/ maintenance, process tracking/reporting/improvement. The person in this role is also closely aligned to the SAP project and the follow up work that will take place in the business following the system “go live” date. Other systems related work includes systems testing, auditing and overriding data to ensure timely and accurate entry of data. This individual will also be responsible for identifying system enhancements and submitting project requests to support.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Calendar: Proactively identify calendar timelines, manage and distribute seasonal calendars for the Apparel Department. Coordinate and facilitate calendar planning sessions across divisions and functions in advance of future seasons. Monitor calendars and communicate timely alerts of upcoming deadlines and deliverables throughout the season. Help address the issues that arise from missed calendar deadlines or milestones, and help resolve conflicting priorities that arise during the season. Help problem solve for solutions or work arounds when process “misses” take place, and take learnings from these occurrences into the calendars created for future seasons.

Process Tracking and Performance Metrics: Create and manage seasonal Tracking documents to monitor and assess team performance in achieving Team goals around deadlines and milestones. Communication of this information to Apparel, corporate and global partners as required and employing an effective format and cadence that will also help achieve Team goals.

Systems Reporting & Auditing: Create, facilitate and proof data in an effort to ensure systems data is populated and accurate. Communicate information and data requirements to all upstream and downstream partners during critical development timelines. Act as a systems overrider to make data field updates after key milestones have passed and data is locked in the system. Actively seek other reporting formats, which will help the team track seasonal progress and measure success against Apparel strategies.

SAP Representation: Serve as a primary Apparel Operations liaison for SAP partners. Accountabilities include process validation, participating in data cleansing efforts, partnering with the Operations Learning and Development Specialist in writing training documentation and performing training as needed. On point to identify additional opportunities for continuous improvement in the Apparel department.

Systems Auditing and Testing: Critical liaison to reconcile systems of record and problem solve issues in order to enable downstream partners with clean data. Will act as a systems tester and pilot user. Success in this responsibility will mean that production buys can be placed in a timely manner which will ultimately enable the timely shipment of product to our customers.

Possess advanced knowledge of the merchandising, design, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, planning, buying, and product allocation processes.

Proficient in manipulating data including statistical analysis and advanced math calculations. Excellent organizational and presentation skills and attention to detail required.

Minimum of a College Degree in Business with a focus in Business Administration, Accounting, General Management, Merchandising, Systems Analysis or related field OR experience equivalent to a degree.

Three to five years in experience in the Apparel Industry.
