Advertising/Campaign focused Art Director/Designer

Main focus of role:
This role requires a strong ability to conceptualize and create advertising campaigns to be executed across multiple mediums (Print/Digital/Mobile)
Candidates with multi-channel advertising experience will do best, candidates who are comfortable working in teams with other designers/writers to create and execute advertising campaigns are great fits. Candidates who have worked in Agencies or in-house groups creating advertising campaigns and can show multiple samples of such work will fit best in this role.

Role Summary/Purpose:
The Art Director/Designer works in partnership with a dedicated Copywriter and establishes the conceptual direction, design and execution on large projects and marketing initiatives. He/she works in conjunction with Sr. Account Managers and Clients on strategic national advertising and marketing campaigns, internal corporate communications, brand identity campaigns and experiential design initiatives (both print and digital).

Essential Responsibilities:
Manage and/or serve as a contributor on a variety of projects including but not limited to: executive leadership presentations, new marketing initiatives, print and digital corporate image campaigns, national advertising campaigns (trade/consumer), new business development initiatives, direct mail campaigns, internal corporate communications, brand identity development and campaigns, corporate events, TV, radio, video, environmental design, internal self-promotion campaigns, experiential design and web initiatives such as website design, digital dashboards, mobile apps, email campaigns and banner ads
Work in a collaborative environment with peers, colleagues, managers and clients
Manage assigned aspects of design work done by Art Directors, Copywriters, Graphic Designers, Production Artists, Animators, Digital Developers, Web Designers, Photographers, Printers and any additional outside vendors as they relate to a project
Provide creative thought leadership in the development of high-quality print and broadcast, as well as environmental, experiential and digital design
Conduct creative wall reviews
Follow a creative brief and work with Account Managers to ensure assignment is clearly outlined and estimated
Understand strategic marketing initiatives and campaign strategies
Dig deeper if necessary to achieve clarity and ensure the creative team is aligned
Question client/marketing strategy when it doesn't align with market research or meet the needs of the consumer
Follow budgets, timelines and internal processes for each and every project
Create, develop and launch brands
Look at the big picture
Present work internally among peers, colleagues, managers and clients
Present work to external clients and internal executive leadership
Work expeditiously on a high volume of projects with constantly changing deadlines
Make sure all objectives are being met and that there are no errors
Exercise good judgment and independent discretion regarding projects, initiatives and other company-related efforts
Manage assigned workflow while directing the work of others
Work with traffic and account managers on all project initiatives and help coordinate the flow of large projects with the creative team
Provide creative thinking during project kick-off meetings, brainstorming sessions and creative wall reviews
Influence and guide others with thought-provoking ideas and recommended solutions
Implement creative design best practices
Deliver the highest quality work possible
Offer new ideas for creative processes, creative team management and collaboration
Strong Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign proficiency

Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of degree a high school diploma and 12 years of work experience in visual design and management experience
A minimum of 6 years of professional advertising agency experience and/or work within an in-house creative team

Desired Characteristics:
Degree in Fine Arts or Design strongly preferred
Graduate degree preferred

Deep understanding of strategic marketing and advertising, using market research as one of the influencers

In-depth knowledge of, and experience in creating and developing, brand identity
Excellent presentation skills
Outstanding communication and great people skills
Proficient in Creative Cloud (i.e. Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign)
Proficient Mac and PC skills
Master of MS Office application (primarily, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of HTML 5, CSS and ActionScript a plus but not required

Nice to have (Not required):
- Proficient in HTML5 // digital animation
- Understanding of Double Click a Plus
-Strong competency in digital design, i.e. digital banners, landing pages and websites and emails.
-UI/UX design strength
-conceptual/collaborative abilities

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
