Advertising Copywriter

We are looking for an ADVERTISING SPECIFIC copywriter with mid-level experience for a Tampa publisher.

Writes for clients in the several departments including Marketing and Advertising.


1. Coordinates and writes copy for multimedia campaigns, magazine and newspaper ads, sales promotions, contests, collateral material (brochures, sales flyers), inserts, presentations, radio and television scripts. (80%). Must be comfortable proofreading.

2. Must be able to perform basic design, layout and production tasks. (15%)

3. Brainstorms with the creative group to develop creative concepts (5%)


1. Must have a command of language and writing skills
2. Must be creative, able to conceptualize and articulate ideas within a group structure
3. Must write copy that achieves the strategy objectives for any given project
4. Must have a working ability with the Mac. Please list any web Content Management Systems (CMS) you are well versed in
5. Must understand basic marketing principles
6. Must be able to handle a large number of projects at one time, and communicate with other departments
7. Must follow-up and be well-organized to meet time, priority and workload demands
8. Keeps abreast of contemporary copy techniques and creative trends.

Problem Solving/Decision Making:

1. Work is diversified and involved; duties require decisions, which may necessitate division new methods or modifying or adapting standard principle or practices to new or changed conditions, must be flexible.
2. Must be able to update/correct ads, collateral material and special section stories quickly under tight deadlines. Work has a direct impact on final outcome or project.

Qualifications: 3-5 years advertising specific copywriting experience as a professional.


Office environment, hours 9-6 pm
