ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

START DATE: ASAP

CONTRACT: 5 MONTHS

LOCATION: SAN FRANCISCO

PAY: DOE

 

** A FORTUNE 500 RETAIL COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT! **

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Maintain title information in the database, including ISBN requests, change memos, descriptive copy, and book specifications
  • Attend meetings, including weekly editorial meeting and cover meetings
  • Handle administrative duties, including contract requests, author payments, expenses, booking travel, setting up meetings, managing the creative director’s calendar, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and shipping packages
  • Potential for light editorial work, such as helping to brainstorm new stories and concepts
  • Prepare deck presentations as needed
  • Maintain library and cover boards and manage author/agent book copies

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a high volume environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point or Key Note, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently
  • Required Education  BA/BS
  • Knowledge of publishing process and formats a plus
  • The ability to brainstorm with the team and offer editorial advice is a big plus.
