Account Manager

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with Business Partners. Build strong “trusted advisor” relationships with Business Partners and other partners across the organization to ensure that advertising programs meet launch and in-store deadlines.
  • Build rapport and respect with stakeholders and Business Partners to impact and influence outcomes beneficial to the business.
  • Anticipate requests and understand and fulfill information needs of Business and Advertising partners.
  • Be able to negotiate compromises, have difficult conversations, and manage up/across/down within and across teams in a positive and collaborative spirit.
  • Seamless delivery of advertising work.
  • Lead the collaborative development of retail advertising projects within the Account Service team, across Advertising functions, and with other internal and external resources to deliver work that is on-time, on-budget, and on-strategy.
  • Apply ‘lessons learned’ and continuously improve the way that work is developed and delivered – champion Innovation in the execution of advertising. Allocate resources appropriately to projects, understanding work in the pipeline and anticipating needs and requests.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    Project Management:

  • Superior project management and organizational skills – proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently (advertising agency experience strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in fast-paced, multi-project team-oriented environment – is flexible and can tolerate ambiguity and still operate effectively
  • Expertise in developing print, POP, web, direct mail, collateral

    Communication Skills:

  • Communicate effectively at all levels, across departments, and with Business Partners – is able to adjust interaction and communications styles for different audiences and situations
  • Drive impactful verbal and written standards within team for high-quality Business Partner work
  • Demonstrate an ability to “read” a situation and react appropriately to solve issues
  • Demonstrate leadership in collaborative discussions that drive to consensus – understands who has ‘the d’ and can lead discussions diplomatically with disagreements so people walk-away feeling good

    Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Consistently demonstrate willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Is a strong team builder with Business Partner and cross-capability teams, clarifying roles and responsibilities – inspire teams to strive for exceptional work

    Client Management:

  • Create visible presence with senior Business Partners – generates respect for self, Account Service, and Advertising
  • Demonstrate success at handling difficult Business Partner situations (and have tough conversations) with professionalism, problem-solving skills, and care
  • Inspire confidence in our team, elevates our value, and capabilities

    Business Leadership:

  • Champion of Business Partners ‘business’ – ability to learn the business quickly and proactively – and apply knowledge to bring advertising perspective, POVs and recommendations to help partners grow their business
  • Track record of leading program executions that have driven strong, measurable business results
