Our client (an ad agency based in Arlington Heights) is looking for an account director for a big client located downtown in Chicago. This would initially be a contract downtown and then could work with someone to go back and forth between the suburbs (to cater to someone who cannot always go to the suburbs or visa versa).

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Account Manager
Growing marketing firm seeking client facing Account Manager with 5+ years of agency experience. Must be well versed in digital marketing as well as traditional advertising and excel in team environments
Manages the client relationship as it relates to delivery of service and support. Responsible for initiating, planning and managing new campaigns, initiatives and/or projects for assigned clients. Works directly with the VP of Operations to prioritize client’s projects and initiatives.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
1. Acts as a thought leader regarding account management and serves as a mentor to junior account staff.
2. Responsible for advocating internally on behalf of client initiatives.
3. Leads clients strategically and tactically by providing engagement leadership and developing client relationships while being regarded by the client as an expert and trusted advisor.
4. Interacts directly with assigned clients to effectively manage their requests and expectations regarding current and new campaigns, initiatives and/or projects.
5. Interacts with Project Manager as necessary to ensure continuity between client requirements and internal efforts.
6. Responsible for completing assigned account tasks, as directed by the VP of Operations.
7. Continuously maintains and enhances personal understanding of interactive marketing, technologies, client management and production/development processes.
8. Collaborates on, supports and refines processes to effectively produce high-quality work on time and within budget.
9. Anticipates potential issues related to client relationship, expectations and campaigns and works with the VP of Operations, as directed to resolve in a timely and proactive fashion.
10. Assists the VP of Operations to ensure accounts workload is planned and managed optimally.
11. Works with complete autonomy.
12. May assign work to junior staff from time to time, as needed.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:
• Bachelors degree
• Previous experience in client-facing roles
• Previous experience in senior account management
• Previous marketing firm or ad agency experience
• Broad experience with digital. Social, traditional and interactive marketing

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
• Proficient using PC or Mac, MS Office Suite, online browsers
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Possess the ability to articulate clearly both in writing and orally, be creative, and be personable
• Possess a strong client focus
