Account Director

The Account Director should provide inspiration and be the driving force for the team through interpersonal skills, creative thinking and leadership. They are fully integrated within the agency and act as partner to the clients, always aiming to go one step better– in terms of the work, results and general team and agency environment.

1. Roles and Responsibilities

• Play an active contributory role to Account Management meetings and proactively look for opportunities within All Agency Meetings
• Own and run at least one New Business (or prospect) meeting per quarter
• Proactively supply at least one potential PR story every 6 weeks

Team Management
• Success of your team (AM & AE), not you as an individual
• Line management of each member of your team, providing leadership, day-to-day support and on-the-job training as necessary.
NB. We anticipate that coaching and managing your team should take no less than 16 hours of your time each month (and probably no more than 24 hours/mth)

Client Service
• Be the primary agency point of contact for mid-weight and senior client contacts.
• Monitor and maintain high overall levels of client service – including quality control of all
live projects
• Always give best advice and champion/defend that advice as far as possible in front of clients.

• Partner with Planning department on strategic proposals and involve them throughout the creative development process.
• Responsible for delivering timely strategic proposals and the management of planning process required to achieve this.
• Work with Planning and the Board to ensure that Client Vision is front of mind and progressing

• Write simple, concise and inspirational creative briefs
• Drive creative quality on the account
• Responsible for the creative quality of each live project.

• Responsible for financial well-being of live projects, including income and profit margin
• Overseeing billing and reconciliation process – including weekly rec of retainer and knowledge of all
