Account Director / Business Lead

This role would suit an experienced project director who is looking for the next step in their career. They will have proven their leadership, commercial, and client servicing skills on large scale events and will be ready to lead a small team of like minded individuals, driving our Houston business forward, whilst continuing to delivery flagship projects on a day to day basis.

Project Management

• Take lead in delivering key projects with budgets of up to $10million
• Demonstrate understanding and experience of all key departments and their product service offer (e.g. writing, film, digital, creative production etc) and be able to cross sell these effectively to clients.
• Demonstrate strong ability to write effective, compelling project briefs.
• Ensuring team adhere to company processes and industry best practice
• Demonstrate successful onsite management and delivery ensuring project reflects the brief and meets client/brand objectives.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Company's service offer and how this has added value to a project.
• Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
• Demonstration of strong presentation skills and an ability to develop compelling sales strategies for projects.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor Americas team
• Strong commercial management of projects – focusing on time management and meeting / exceeding revenue targets
• Experienced in managing, reaching, exceeding assigned targets and ensuring strong revenue returns.
• Tradeshow / event / communication and digital project experience essential
• Knowledge of energy sector advantageous
• Knowledge of the Houston marketplace advantageous
• Must be able to communicate well and build relationships with clients, other departments/ colleagues
• Can write accurate and timely contact reports as well as briefs for internal teams
• Good agency commercial management skills essential
• Proven ability to manage large scale budgets
• Flexible and adaptable to new challenges and requirements
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Capable of devising and implementing revenue-generating ideas
• Can present budgets, documents and creative concepts to clients with confidence
• Written and spoken Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese advantageous

• You will need to have a positive, can-do attitude. Although it is a small local team we are a large global team, working with a wide range of clients on a wide variety of projects, often against tight deadlines
• An intelligent, ambitious and highly motivated team player with a commitment to quality and professionalism
• Calm in a crisis, extremely organized, pro-active with good interpersonal skills
• Flexible, patient, able to prioritize and a good negotiator
• Should be able to travel as required occasionally for extended periods
Brand Management
• Strong understanding of client brand(s), products and competitive environment.
• Strong understanding of client business environment and issues.
• Understanding of brand vision, values and positioning visual guidelines.
• Demonstrate clear point of view on client’s brand strategy and be able to articulate how it contributes to the development of projects.
• Work with Global Management Team to ensure agreed brand strategy and messages are effectively translated across all work undertaken.
• Demonstrate an awareness/working understanding of client business objectives

Client Relationship Management
• Demonstrate ability to develop and sustain client relationships good understanding of client’s business environment and issues.

Financial Management
• Understanding of how the company makes money.
• Demonstrate financial responsibility through effective proposal costing, budget development and management, and timely billing reconciliations.
• Demonstrate understanding of Value Add processes and provide regular and accurate summaries.
• Take full responsibility for revenue forecasting and management across program of work
• Ensure maximum revenue generation and time/cost recovery across program of work
• Able to asses / measure and communication the ROI of our services in relation to our clients business
• Manage quarterly financial reviews across program

Creative Development
• Lead creative brainstorming.
• Manage creative development process and demonstrate ability to assess and monitor creative proposals/concept development against creative brief and the client’s brand / business objectives.

Business Development
• Demonstrate clear understanding of company range of products and services and be able to show opportunities taken to sell these in to clients.
• Demonstrate ability to develop revenue-generating ideas.
• Identify new business opportunities with new and existing clients

Team Management
• Lead and direct Houston team across program of work liaising closely with Global Management Team.
• Mentor and develop Houston team where appropriate, providing training and support as required
• Delegate to, manage and oversee Houston team, where applicable and take responsibility for his/her performance/ deliverables.

Experience and skills required:
• Ideally educated to degree level
• Substantial experience across a broad range of global brands, delivering brand communications, experiences and events / exhibition programs.
• Substantial agency or client experience developing and delivering results-orientated brand communications, experiences or events / exhibition programs.
• Strong event project management experience
• Experienced in leading / directing a team.
• Experienced in managing developing sustained client relationships.
