Account Director - Agency

The Account Services Director must understand client business needs and develop and sell strategic direct marketing solutions to address those needs. The Director will play an intricate role in determining the factors that will lead to a successful client-agency relationship, and employing the proper agency resources to ensure development, project definition and solutions. Primary responsibilities will include managing existing business and expanding business opportunities with current customers and internal team leadership. Organizational ability, project management, work process management and personnel management and mentorship are requirements. You must have 3+ years experience managing candidates in the healthcare (insurance) field.

EXPECTATIONS:
• Must understand the clients overall business needs and determine the most appropriate direct marketing strategies to achieve those business goals. Must have ability to make good decisions and give clients appropriate counsel as strategy issues.
• Earn credibility with client as a strategic leader, who can present and fight for strategy, proposals and creative…who can push back and give good guidance when clients don’t want to make the best decisions.
• Must have ability to recognize risks and opportunities and bring in executive team to help secure/grow client relationships. Keep management informed of any potential issues, both strategic and tactical, which may put relationship at risk.
• Must have a thorough understanding of all jobs assigned.
• Must understand and follow SOPs and rules, in order to protect the client and company from undue risks.
• Must maintain and grow the accounts through current program/jobs and add new aspects of the job besides continuing the account.
• To train and supervise the Account Services team from Account Coordinator, Account Executive, Sr. Account Executive to Group Account Services Manager.
• Assist in training other departments on operational structure of PM to internal departments following SOP’s and dms rules.
• Assist in setting up proper training for new employees on the internal workings on PM and Account Services team.
• Making sure through proper training what is their responsibilities in the Process of PM and Account Services team.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
• To teach, set expectations and responsibilities per person and per job in the department. Conducts annual performance reviews with Account Services team.
• Responsible for directing the activities of Account Services team to ensure proper agency service to clients, including trouble shooting of ongoing employee challenges (HR issues, internal team communications)
• Must verify that all billings and payments have been completed in a timely fashion prior to job closure.
• Manages client budget and communicates changes to client and with the team.
• Responsible for probing with clients to determine where additional sales opportunities lie, including moving into communications objectives (acquisition vs. retention), new media (such as emarketing) and new divisions/product lines.
• Will lead response analysis efforts to determine results of all campaigns and ensure subsequent strategy recommendations are sound.
• Analyze client input, together with background knowledge to direct the internal team.
• Provides PMs, with well documented input, support data, overview of account, and production information/materials from beginning, including changes to job for through understanding of client needs and strategic direction recommendations for final job completion.
• Effectively presents, sells, and defends all agency work/proposals to clients. Supports your team members for all clients.
• All projects are delivered for clients and agency; on time, within budget, high standard or excellence and error free.
• Attend daily status meetings.
• The ASD will be responsible for managing an invoicing system that ensures that billing for all project-related work is done accurately, and in a timely fashion as defined by dms SOP’s.
• The ASD is responsible for developing proposals for direct marketing efforts that strategically address client’s business needs. Proposals must be turned around in a timely manner, while allowing proper time for review by management and accurate production bidding.
• ASD must use the Job Start document to initiate this process and the job start document must be reviewed by the ASD manager prior to the Set-up meeting. If appropriate, the AM may arrange a call between creative and the client in order to provide creative with client insights on creative approach.

QUALITY:
• Must give teams the information they need to deliver highest quality work for our clients.
• Ensure that all client interactions are conducted professionally.
• All promises made to the client are to be kept. If for any reason commitments are not to be kept, the client is to be given a reason before the time the promise was to be fulfilled.

COMMUNICATION:
• Under the ASD’s leadership, resolution of any potential client issues or concerns will be addressed in manner, which strengthens the client/agency relationship. ASD will bring bear whatever agency resources are required to accomplish this goal.
• Ability to recognize strong/weak creative and provide constructive feedback to creative team.
• The ASD is responsible for providing the creative team with specific input on what type of work will be successful and the type of work won’t be successful, and required improvements in creative prior to presentation to client. Once creative is accepted and passed on to the client, ASD must to defend it, even if the client doesn’t agree with it. ASD should only present material to clients that they can passionately defend.
• Accurate, good communication is a shared responsibility between the agency and the client.
• Use clear, concise communication at all times.
• Be a problem solver and use your analytical skills when required.
• Demonstrated process management and management skills as a leader and manager.

This is a long-term assignment that will go thru end of year. If all goes well, could lead to full-time.
