Accessibility Implementation Specialist

Our Global Consulting client is looking for a passionate Accessibility Specialist who can easily articulate Section 508 and WCAG policies to functional and technical audiences. You are comfortable defending compliance of specific provisions and also working with internal team members to resolve tactical defects. You are a self-starter and can seamlessly work in a distributed team environment.

The Accessibility Implementation Specialist responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Defining and planning the processes, tools and deliverables associated to Accessibility
• Communicate effectively to existing and prospective customers on our accessibility compliance
• Create accessibility documentation that can be used by a wide variety of product teams: From best practices and guidelines to detailed functional and technical requirements to meet accessibility requirements.
• Identify and configure appropriate accessibility tools
• Identifying and communicating any issues or risks that could impact deadlines and product goals
• Ensuring all deliverables are high quality and fulfill product needs
• Contributing to the existing set of templates, standards and processes that can be leveraged across the UX team
• Effectively working with Business SMEs, Product Managers and Developers to accomplish your deliverables

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%, typically Monday through Thursday

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required - preferably in HCI, Information Technology, Marketing or related degree
• Minimum 2 years work experience with Section 508, WCAG 1.0 and 2.0 and W3C standards
• Proficient in analyzing HTML and CSS for accessibility compliance

Preferred Skills:
• Experience designing enterprise software applications
• Experience in Insurance or Healthcare and Public Service industries
• Formal certification in Section 508 and/or WCAG 2.0
