Vitamin T has an amazing agency client in downtown Chicago who is seeking a digital-savvy Social Media communications professional to join the leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to add your experience designing and executing social media to an exciting, passionate, award-winning team.

Our client is the world’s largest advertising agency’s global social media and word of mouth marketing practice. They identify and engage influencers and affinity groups to spark word of mouth about a brand or issue. They drive a new form of “earned media” by using social media strategically and adding scale and volume through integrated marketing and communications programs. They get people talking in sustained, meaningful conversations and participating alongside the brands, causes, or issues they care about .

They are looking for a seasoned digital or social media practitioner to lead programs for a major new integrated Chicago CPG client; and to be a leading voice on the Chicago team, working closely with the SVP and EVP/Group Director. This is an exciting opportunity to drive social media strategy with some of the world’s best known consumer brands, working with teams in the clients network to integrate social thinking across the communications spectrum .

You have experience leading a team in designing insights-driven engagement strategies; know the consumer marketing space, either working agency side or coming from CPG brand management and have experience working in an integrated agency environment and/or on behalf of integrated client brands on a global level. If you are passionate about social media, digital innovation and you are ready to use your digital communications experience in a fast paced and creative environment, then this is the leadership role for you.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with clients and account teams to lead the development of social media strategies for a large CPG clients
Lead social media strategy and planning workshops with internal teams
Provide counsel to teams on all elements of the communications framework from research to measurement
Establishing thought leadership and driving the digital agenda focusing on CPG
Take an active role in onboarding, planning and program development for this big account
Direct internal strategy teams in employing a variety of research techniques to understand and analyze online data and provide insight about relevant online conversations and voices in those conversations
Work alongside multi-discipline teams to infuse social across all the work they execute
Develop the talents of your team members and/or direct reports
Contribute to the clients blog and other thought leadership efforts in the social media space



Required qualifications:

7-10 + years of relevant work experience in the digital communications space
Solid understanding of social media and the digital landscape
Must be passionate about quickly-evolving social media environment
Superior knowledge of the CPG space and consumer marketing
Outstanding research and analytical skills
Superior communication, organizational, and project management skills
Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
Ability to work effectively and proactively within a team setting
