33-Print & Web Designer

0 people like this description

Visual communication is at the heart of what we do. We integrate our Creative Associates into our project teams, instead of treating design as an add-on at the end of a process. As a designer here, you’ll work to maintain and elevate our company’s brand through top-notch publications and presentations—while helping to produce logos, identities, collateral, websites and more to create campaigns that are as memorable as they are effective. You’ll also help our team visualize strategic concepts and narratives, and help brainstorm visual solutions to communications and research challenges.

Our Creative Team is small, but growing. And for you, this is a good thing: you’ll have enough independence to make decisions and work directly with our entire team and shape our products into industry-leading tools for effective communication.

ABOUT YOU
You’re fluent in the standard software of the trade—Creative Suite, Keynote, Office—but aren’t afraid to learn new tools, especially if it results in a better product or a more efficient process. Experience with data visualization, web design, or typography is preferred. Knowledge of digital strategy and front-end web development/design are also desired.

We need Creative Associates who can gain clients’ confidence and help lead our team in new directions, as necessary. It would be helpful if you were familiar with the nonprofit and philanthropic communities. You also should have familiarity with branding for consumer audiences.

Our company is ambitious in the work that we take on and you should be, too. Being stretched to learn new skills and tackle new challenges is the norm for our team, and you have the ability to repeatedly rise to whatever challenges are presented to you.

To be successful, you’re the type of designer who is able to juggle multiple projects and deliver on time, every time, while maintaining a service-oriented attitude. You’ll also have 6-8 years of experience working in the design/creative fields.

NEXT STEPS MOVING FORWARD/INTERVIEW PROCESS:
Send resume, bio, hrly rate, samples, etc...to Mike and HR email. then set up phone interview, bring in for in-person, short exercise, then start. 2 week turnaround.

BENEFITS
Top-notch Tools: Your tools should never be barriers to doing great work, so you’ll be set up with a speedy Mac laptop and external display.

A Collaborative, Learning Environment: We all really like working together. We collaborate and help each other, and we all learn constantly—about the art and science behind the work we do, the research methods we employ, and the evolving technologies we use to engage our clients and their audiences.

Convenient Offices: Our workplace is located conveniently between the Dupont Circle and Farragut North metro stops. There’s a Capital Bikeshare station right outside of our office and, if you’re a two-wheeled commuter, we’ll cover your annual membership fee. We’re well-stocked with local coffee, espresso and healthy snacks to make sure you’re comfortable throughout the day.

Professional Development: Our team is committed to seeing you succeed and grow. You’ll receive a generous professional development budget to take classes, attend conferences, join associations, buy books or whatever else you and your mentor think would help further your career.

OUR COMMITMENT
We know that bringing talented, diverse people together creates more impact than we can create as individuals. We seek out candidates with diverse experiences, points of view, backgrounds and cultures—with the goal of creating an inclusive work environment that promotes creativity, innovation and collaboration.
