44-Art Director /Designer

The Art Director is responsible for the design and production of our marketing materials. These materials include practice brochures, white papers, reports, newsletters, recruiting materials, websites, advertisements, invitations and conference materials. The Art Director works directly with other marketing staff and practice personnel, on the concept, content, target audience, production schedule, and budget of each project. The Art Director oversees the printing of all marketing materials to insure we receive quality materials at a reasonable cost. The Art Director manages the graphics department’s workload, supervises our freelance designers, and reviews materials created by outside firms for us. The Art Director is also responsible to insure that all our materials meet the visual identity guidelines set forth in the style guide.

skills required? (print AND web? if web, do you need someone who can code? etc.) Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver) We don’t do much in the way of website design but we do a lot of HTML emails, so need someone familiar with those and the differences between an HTML email and web design in Dreamweaver best practices.

team? This person will be the only in-house designer and will need to be in charge of managing outsourced projects. We work with about 4-5 freelancers and agencies. There is an in-house marketing team comprised of 14 other people, most of whom are located in the DC office. The contractor will report to me in the beginning and later to the Marketing Director of Operations.

This person be concepting as well as executing.
