Role Purpose
To plan, execute and track apps marketing campaigns, as well as supporting other marcoms initiatives. Specific areas of responsibility include: apps promotions, app partner liaison to construct apps marcoms plans and negotiate reciprocal marketing and earned media from apps partners; and CRM manager. This individual will work directly with the UK Marcoms Lead.

Key Accountabilities

A highly motivated and passionate team that is leading innovation in consumer mobile experiences and building community. The addition of the Apps Marketing Manager rounds out their skillset and will provide a much needed resource both to promote their valuable apps marketing partners and also to seek reciprocal promotion from them. Essentially, they are looking to bring an apps guru onto the team who can help make their apps famous.

Responsibilities include:
• Manage apps promotions, including liaising with app developers and internal stakeholders (eg, apps team, PR, social media, MSN, etc), creating social marketing ideas and working with the app developers and agencies to implement them
• Deliver and execute app marketing campaigns as per the Joint Marketing Agreement across paid, earned and owned channels
• Select apps for promotion in Marketplace, as well as reporting and tracking those promotions.
• Manage monthly newsletter creation, including liaison with corp for US examples, localisation for the UK, writing, as required, design management, distribution and tracking/reporting. Apps promotion is a key element of the newsletter content, helping to ensure customers and prospects are aware of new, useful and fun apps.
• Support the team in achieving overall marcoms objectives, including assisting with other marcoms initiatives as required.

More generally/as needed:
• Meetings with external app partners to sell-in our co-marketing packages and to align co-marketing plans.
• Campaign planning to ensure successful & timely delivery.
• Monitor ongoing campaign performance for each apps partner, in order to optimize individual campaigns and maximize the return on investment.
• Campaign de-briefings & continuous program reporting.
• Cross team collaboration and internal stakeholder approvals.
• Manage agencies (typically social media and design).
• Financial management, as required.
• Strong organisational skills
• A motivated self-starter.
• Regular reporting to line manager and broader team about campaign performance.

This position will require:
• A polished marketer with strong business development and persuasive skills.
• Excellent written and oral communications & presentation skills (good with ppt).
• The ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously across various app partners and internal audiences, while maintaining a high degree of organisation and staying focused on the end objectives and the bigger picture.
• The ability to adapt on the fly to changing requirements in a competitively charged environment and be willing to try new things in order to drive execution that successfully differentiates our product among a vast number of competitors.
• Strong cross-group and cross-division collaboration skills.
• The ability to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices.
• Someone who thrives in a fast paced, demanding environment and is happy to get stuck in.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Experience with business development, apps, social media and or PR is required.
• Experience in marketing communications for consumer products is required (preferably in telecoms/technology, but not a must).
• Experience in managing internal and external creative resources, vendors and partner agencies is required.
• An affinity for mobile consumer products, apps and digital entertainment is mandatory.
• Global consumer marketing experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with digital media, social & online campaign building is strongly preferred.
• Experience with apps, a telecoms operator or within the telecoms sector is preferred
