The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing grant- and internally-funded software development projects across a range of technology platforms (e.g., SMS, web, mobile, social media).
We are an agile development shop that is dedicated to ongoing improvement and optimization of internal processes/products and this position is key to this improvement.
Manage multiple development efforts simultaneously and effectively track and report on budget, scope, and schedule;
Ensure team stays true to agile principles to execute projects with a high level of transparency, understanding, and competence;
Participate in and lead various scrum meetings (i.e., Scrum, Retrospective, Sprint Planning)
Actively manage the product backlog including backlog grooming;
Work with various Research Investigators within the Schroeder Institute to implement projects ensuring conceptual ideas are accurately translated to technical implementation;
Write user stories for developers to implement;
Perform QA stories to ensure they meet UAT criteria;
Develop project documentation;
Provide data gathering support for data analysis as well as ad hoc inquiries;
Manage the development lifecycle for several integrated projects including a mobile application, a text messaging platform, the flagship cessation application, and others;
Stay current on technical best practices; and
Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelors' degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management preferably in web development. The individual must have excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written); attention to detail coupled with perseverance is a must; excellent understanding of product lifecycles and the ability to manage execution of project plans against key milestones; and PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, or similar certification is a plus.
