The Role:
The Web Designer is responsible for front-end development and graphic design on the corporate microstrategy.com website, special topic microsites, international websites, and various other marketing projects. The designer will be able to plan, layout, and code sites and pages with attention to reinforcing the MicroStrategy brand.
Your Focus:
• Conceptualize, design, and implement new web pages, layouts, graphics, and special features for the corporate website and other web properties.
• Design and implement functional aspects of the website such as slideshows, rich media widgets, form controls, etc.
• Maintain high design quality, ensuring consistent and on-brand visual content site wide.
• Coordinate with larger creative design team to strengthen corporate identity and branding.
• Work closely with other members of the Web team and other internal teams to ensure that all external website content is accurate, up-to-date, organized, and consistent worldwide.
• Support SEO efforts.
• Be innovative and stay up-to-date on current web design standards, trends, best practices, and new technologies.
• Be proficient in browser compatibility testing and mobile optimization.
Who you are:
• BA or BS in Graphic Design, New Media, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar field, or equivalent working experience as a Web Designer or Front-end Web Developer
• Strong sense of and excellent skills in website design, layout, typography, and branding
• Flair for designing effective and creative graphical assets, including banners, icons, buttons, and ads
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver; experience with InDesign a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript required.
• Basic knowledge of .NET, PHP, or other server-side programming languages and version control systems a plus
• Experience with Kentico CMS a plus
• Ability to multitask, maintain a high attention to detail, and work productively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
• Experience in the software industry a plus
