Our client is the leading international coffee retailer HQ'd in Seattle, WA, We have an immediate need for a Technical PM with eCommerce and HRIS exposure.
Job Summary and Mission:
Managing the development and implementation of large or highly complex human resource (HR) process and technology projects, applying established project management industry standards and best practices in accordance with industry standards and project management methodologies. As an HRIS process and technology leader.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Manages or consults on large human resource information system (HRIS) projects to achieve business goals or objectives; works in a coordinated manner to ensure proper allocation of resources, individual project profitability and high client satisfaction in compliance with established company standards, practices and policies Manages the delivery of business results involving complex and interconnected HR processes and/or technologies and one or more business partners and/or vendors/implementation partners Assembles and leads multiple interdepartmental and cross functional project teams. Determines project governance, decision making structure and communication plan. Mentors and coaches team members; influences and leads their direction and results. May directly manage partners, including other managers as required by the scope of the project. Drives the selection, creation and application of comprehensive project plans, detailing project schedule, resource and time estimates, quality requirements and metrics, and organizational change management activities. Ensures completion of all steps required to obtain project funding and resource acquisition approval. Negotiates and actively manages project schedule, scope, resources and budget to meet project and client needs. Manages resource gaps and recommends acquisitions, engaging third party suppliers for outsourced services as needed. Prioritizes multiple complex projects; anticipates, mitigates and prevents problems; generates alternatives and implements solutions. Ensures that projects meet specified time lines and deliver expected requirements and results on time, within budget and in alignment with client expectations. Assesses project health and directs any necessary corrective measures. Applies standard processes for risk and issue management, ensuring critical risks and issues are proactively mitigated Works directly with client base to understand HR processes and strategies and when to leverage technology and scope work in order to achieve desired business results. Influences operational and executive leadership to create and maintain alignment around the project business objectives, measurable benefits, success criteria, scope and constraints impacting project delivery. Leads discussions and negotiates across multiple functions to resolve project conflicts and competing priorities. Anticipates and plans for how project team decisions impact the client. Participates in planning for implementation of systems and end to end business processes reengineering efforts that are directly utilized by the client, including defining requirements, process mapping, testing and training as needed. Requires minimal direction in handling challenging or complex situations
Summary of Experience:
Advanced functional and technology project management including requirements: 10 years analysis, work breakdown structure definition, resource allocation and forecasting, cost/schedule/quality/risk management, contract and vendor management, project delivery, and closure activities. Experience with the applicable HRIS business system(s) and business processes: 7 years including working with business areas to prioritize requirements and select appropriate process reengineering or technology solutions to deliver effective business results and achieve business benefits. Managing large scale HRIS projects or programs: 7 years. Building and leading cross functional teams: 5 years. Mentoring other project managers in program and project management: 3 years. Human resources functional experience: 3 years. Project management practices process improvement: 2 years. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong negotiation skills. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. Proven ability in strategic planning and execution. Ability to define objectives, scope and resources for projects extending beyond a department or business unit. Ability to analyze and present key findings to executive business stakeholders. Proficiency in policies and procedures development, and information management. Knowledge of process improvement, business process reengineeding and quality methods, such as Lean, Six Sigma. Ability to think critically and creatively about new processes and solutions. Ability to flex leadership style to accommodate a wide variety of team member styles and leverage team diversity. Ability to establish cross functional, collaborative relationships with business partners. Ability to navigate within a fast paced dynamic environment with high degrees of ambiguity to deliver large and complex HRIS projects. Superior communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to diverse audiences at all levels of the organization. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to build cross functional project teams with the ability to impact and influence at the executive level. Ability to manage geographically distributed teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
