5 - Digital Marketing Specialist

The Digital Specialist is principally responsible for developing strategic and high-quality content published on the association’s website and microsites as well as through email marketing and outreach campaigns for events and programs, e-newsletters, and other digital properties (i.e., external digital platform and mobile app). 

Other responsibilities include working with internal clients, external website consultants, other team editors, and the association’s web content specialist to develop and/or hone web pages or microsites under for maximum progress toward increasing the visibility of the industry and accomplishing strategic goals for the association, including member engagement, recruitment, and other related goals. 

Other responsibilities include participating in the editorial review process as part of the publishing and marketing team; assisting with creating and editing presentation slides; optimizing content marketing efforts; and coordinating various efforts in support of our annual convention and expo. 

Principal Duties and Percentage of Time Allocations: 
• Continuously review, hone, and tag content on our website ( for relevance, timeliness, and accuracy; develop content strategies and content for maximum effectiveness and user engagement; monitor analytics and develop strategies that enhance the user experience, increase traffic, and support  initiatives; and ensure the high quality of our digital content 45% 
• Serve as principal editor and SEO strategist for email marketing campaigns. Assist in the review, production, and testing of various electronic communications/emails to members and nonmembers using Informz. Serve as back up to the web content specialist. 
• Develop and execute strategies that optimize the value of the association’s digital content across all departments and platforms, including content and web pages dedicated to marketing the our annual convention and our Staffing Law Conference. 40% 


1) Digital Editing exp—they have a lot of content, so this is key 
2) SEO web exp with digital initiatives—Google Analytics 
3) Digital Comm and Marketing background—especially email marketing, digital publications or other media 


Also may be able to break up this position into smaller projects as necessary. 

For example, if they have an event in Tenn., they would need someone to handle all of their digital marketing for that event: web microsites, email mktg, web and print pieces 

Qualifications (Skills, Experience, Education, Training, Etc.): 
College degree in communications or field related to digital content/web development and a minimum of four years of relevant experience required. Must have excellent writing and editing skills—especially as they pertain to digital content—and understand the principles of SEO, UX, and digital content presentation. Must be creative and able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills required. 

Knowledge and experience with SEO, UX, and email marketing best practices are a must 

Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, Informz, and social media platforms preferred.
