As a Designer, Global E-commerce at Converse, you will be responsible for helping to bring this unique brand to life at retail through converse.com in all geographies, with a focus on Europe. Additionally, you will be part of the creative team that designs and develops strategic positioning for the brand. From email campaigns to site creative, your insight and discipline will help this strategy be manifest to the consumer. You will also be a crucial part of understanding and implementing current trend and insight into consumer relevant communication. You will be a key component to bringing the Converse brand forward in the digital space, specifically in the e-commerce channel.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will work with the Design Director and Sr. Designer to create inventive solutions in all aspects of brand communications focusing on converse.com in Global geographies.
  • You will help execute, version and maintain the Converse graphic standards and creative direction in the Global e-commerce channels.
  • will work primarily with Global partners in Europe and Asia to deliver brand right assets for marketing campaigns and seasonal creative.
  • You will help the organization evolve by providing insights and strategies around emerging trends in consumer culture and UI design.
  • You will be responsible for identifying needs and creating assets for regions outside of North America.
  • You will work in a professional setting and collaborate with the brand design, marketing, site experience, merchandising and extended Converse team. You will have strong communication skills and be expected to clearly articulate your own ideas as well as the e-commerce design team.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring alignment from both digital design and brand perspectives across all regions.
  • Oversee translation and localization of all creative assets for Converse.com in all Global regions.
  • Work with Design Director and Sr. Designer to brainstorm and design unique concepts and executions for Global needs.
  • Devise creative solutions to meet individual project scope.
  • Be willing to take risks to determine the balance between exceptional creative and relevant business needs.
  • Design and develop effective communications for the Converse Brand in the marketplace focusing on converse.com in Europe.
  • Develop concepts that communicate category positioning (have a clear understanding of Converse Categories and brand).
  • Assist in the Art Direction and execution of converse.com site photography, email and banner creative.
  • Work with Project Management team to deliver final files and well-crafted solutions for the digital space.
  • Ability to comprehend guidelines, campaigns, brand and category assets and produce effective brand communication for retail and brand.
  • Develop and produce internal presentations that communicate brand and seasonal campaigns to internal and external partners focusing on DTC.
  • Be an expert in Adobe Creative Suite software. Be efficient with building documents and understand how to deliver hi-res files for production. Stay up to date with new production techniques.
  • Be an expert in digital best practices and standards across all devices.
  • Have significant experience designing for the mobile environment.
  • Collaborating with Global marketing and brand teams to understand communication objectives. Develop and deliver solutions (creative/ideas).
  • Work with Project Managers to comprehend briefs and design effective communication for clients.
  • Work with Design Director to effectively communicate brand, category and regional strategies.
  • Present concepts and direction to the Retail Marketing Managers and work with team to effectively communicate and address retail partner needs.
  • Be a strong advocate for the Converse Consumer within the company. Be informed. Be culturally aware.
  • Constantly check creative for "legitimacy" and "authenticity" to the consumer.
  • Innovation and Inventiveness. Be aware of what is happening in the outside world; emerging trends in design, concept and production. New ideas that can strengthen concepts and communication as well as being aware of what competition is doing.
  • Be able to effectively balance design requirements from both an art and commerce perspective - make something amazing, but also intuitive and shop-able.

 

Education / Skills

  • 4-year Degree (e.g. Bachelor's), subject area: Design-related discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in design-related roles, with a preference for digital graphic design, print design and branding experience.
  • Must have on-set photo art direction experience and a body of work that represents a balance of graphic design and photo art direction.
  • Must be an expert in Adobe CS, have a working CSS and JAVA script knowledge and a deep understanding of current digital design trends for e-commerce.
  • Any other design experience is valued. Must show fully comprehensive portfolio.
