Job Summary

A 3D surfacing & texturing artist is someone who has experience creating high quality texturing, shading, and surfacing effects to create high-end, photorealistic assets. This artist is responsible for creating and executing complex, node-based, material networks and must be able to work with other modelers and designers to create high-end visualizations. Generally, this individual will come from a VFX or commercial background. 


Responsibilities 

• Create, manage, and execute complex, node-based, photo-realistic material networks within Substance Designer and Maya 
• Create high-quality, photo-real materials from hand-drawn textures, material scans, and photos 
• Must be able to match the look, feel, and appearance of a physical material in 3D, accurately and realistically 
• Will work directly with material designers daily to create materials in 3D 
• Will be directly communicating with Production Coordinators, Material Leads and other 2D & 3D departments 
• Share techniques, best practices, ideas and other relevant learnings with the team 
• Managing and optimizing a material library 
• Must meet schedules and set deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards 
• Collaborating to develop and implement a virtual material creation process and pipeline with the team
