Aquent is looking for a user experience designer to create elegant, customer-focused interfaces while meeting business teams’ needs and collaborating with a team of passionate designers.

Looking for a strong visual designer with good UX skills. This role will work on UX needs for the Kindle E-readers including the world-wide bestseller the Paperwhite. Under the direction of the E-reader Creative Director, this position will create best in class visual assets, help create UX flows utilizing the ink-like palette, and work with established visual assets of the Kindle E-reader products.

The right person for this role is:
Able to produce high-quality results quickly
Good self-starter, can take high-level input and drive towards actionable results
Works well within existing UI frameworks
Is interested in creating impactful visual design using a print-like palette
Can collaborate well with Development and Product Management
Expert at using photoshop and illustrator
Has worked on mobile / tablet / touch-based interactions
Familiar with helping to create UI specifications and "redlines"

Basic Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
Ability to work gracefully and have a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
Fluency in best practices for mobile and web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash
