An iconic fashion brand needed a large number of highly qualified and dedicated talent to support operations and the guest experience at an 11-week exhibition in New York City. The catch: they needed all 130 talent team members recruited and hired within 30 days.
Aquent quickly got to work recruiting and onboarding talent from our extensive pipeline for roles including:
• Operations Managers and Directors, who were tasked with keeping the event running smoothly
• Brand Ambassadors and Docents, who were dedicated to creating a luxury experience and interacting with VIPs and VICs (Very Important Clients)
In a matter of a few weeks, Aquent trained the operations team in the client’s processes and strategy and held a workshop with docents to help them become well-versed in the brand’s history, utilizing a 700+ page document that outlined the hundreds of artifacts in the exhibit.
The client engaged Aquent for more than just staffing assistance. They relied on our account management team to create and monitor budgets; advocate for EEOC, OSHA, and HR compliance; and handle seven-day-a-week scheduling to avoid overtime costs. Throughout the 11-week engagement, Aquent also served as the main resource for talent needs, with an Account Manager working on site most days.
Thanks to streamlined operations and positive engagements between visitors and staff members, the brand enjoyed record-breaking attendance of over 200,000 visitors—exceeding their expectations and all past visitor counts.
And, because of Aquent’s strategic recruiting, effective onboarding, dedicated training, and great benefits package, the client enjoyed an above-benchmark talent retention rate of 85% over the course of the exhibition, which is especially noteworthy given that the exhibition took place over the busy holiday season. And, because of Aquent’s close monitoring of scheduling and overtime, the total staffing costs came in under budget.
The 130-person team seamlessly handled the unexpectedly large influx of visitors, while receiving rave reviews online and welcoming many return visitors. Their positive contribution also indirectly drove sales at the brand’s local stores.
