This will be a US-Based remote position that starts as a 6 month contract but could extend up to 18 months.

In this pivotal role, you will act as an architect of our data-driven future, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of business needs. You will be instrumental in delivering solutions that convert raw gaming data into actionable insights and innovative data products. Your contributions will involve building robust pipelines, crafting well-designed data models, and developing cutting-edge data products that yield significant outcomes. You will champion security, data quality, reliability, and usability, ensuring stakeholders have complete confidence in the solutions you provide. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, game teams, and various stakeholders, all moving at the pace of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop subject matter expertise in business and data domains to effectively collaborate with data consumers and stakeholders, understanding their information needs and facilitating data access.
  • Identify and analyze multi-structured data and metadata from diverse sources, ensuring the selection and documentation of the most accurate and effective data for analytical requirements.
  • Design scalable data models, architect dataflows, and create abstractions for analytics and machine learning solutions, ensuring adaptability to evolving needs.
  • Utilize modern data engineering practices and frameworks with an object-oriented approach to architect, build, and maintain automated data pipelines that transform data into clean, enriched, and accurate information.
  • Advance our data infrastructure by developing frameworks, reusable components, and new capabilities to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Engage in significant user interfacing, requirements gathering, and data analysis (approximately 30% of time).
  • Dedicate a substantial portion of your time to coding, focusing on data transformation (70% of coding time) and infrastructure development (30% of coding time).
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with sponsors and team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field AND 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, data analysis, or related software development work; OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field AND 1+ year of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, data analysis, or related software development work; OR equivalent practical experience.
  • 1+ year working as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer with regular business collaboration on large enterprise systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with Data Modeling
  • Solid data engineering skills with comfort in business interaction, data profiling, and analysis.
  • Experience working with large volumes of streaming data.
  • A self-starter with a creative problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame experience around outcomes and impact, showcasing curiosity and understanding of business context.

  • Critical thinker and problem solver who brings a creative and open mindset to every situation.
  • Experience building and optimizing analytic solutions and data products that deliver significant business impact.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and exploration to identify, select, and prepare data or metadata for analytics.
  • Strong business acumen to understand and address business challenges through analytics engineering.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale data pipelines handling logs and event streaming data on Cloud Data Platforms using modern tools like Spark and Airflow.
  • Strong Python skills for data processing combined with a pythonic mindset.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and DataOps principles.
  • Domain knowledge in interactive entertainment, either as an experienced player or an industry veteran.
