Aquent has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant in Newark, CA!
This position is 100% on-site. For this reason, we will only consider candidates who can comfortably commute to our client’s location in Newark, CA.
In addition, to be considered for this role, you must:
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
- Be able to work on a W-2 basis. C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this role

As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and financial reporting. Your meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills will ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data, contributing to informed decision-making and the organization’s continued success.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
- Manage various ledgers, journals, registers, and other financial records.
- Prepare account reconciliations, cost reports, billings, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports.
- Prepare federal, state, and regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for posting approved financial transactions.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in accounting.
- Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to accounting.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for GAAP, tax issues, and financial reporting.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance users..
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $38.72 – $67.86 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
