Job Description:
The Sr UX Design Consultant will create highly intuitive, elegant, user-centric design solution. Designs will incorporate current best practices for usability, user engagement, responsive design, SEO, and optimized web page performance. The successful candidate will collaborate with DSM staff, enterprise-wide stakeholders, content producers, and web developers to translate business needs and user goals into intuitive and engaging experiences. DSM is a fast-paced, iterative environment and employs an Agile web development process.
Responsibilities
Work closely with DSM design to maintain UX/visual integrity throughout projects
Design end-to-end user experiences for multiple projects
Using design-thinking-style methodologies, create user experiences which serve to address business and customer goals and needs via user flows, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups and and functional prototypes as appropriate
Create detailed, annotated, functional requirements/specifications for handoff to dev; work closely with developers to maintain functional integrity throughout the implementation
Work with product managers, program managers, and developers to estimate scope and establish priorities
Work closely with stakeholders and others in cross-functional teams to produce experiences which help support our membership strategy in efforts to drive significant member engagement and providing more member value
Requirements
Provide portfolio/samples of professional work (wireframes, flows, hi-fidelity mockups & prototypes)
Proven track record of designing responsive experiences
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Up to date on current trends and software
Experience designing flows, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups in Figma or similar software (we primarily use Figma)
Familiar using grids (Bootstrap, fluid percentage grids, etc)
Experience designing for WCAG accessibility compliance
Self-motivated with excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills; ability to present designs and design decision justifications to a variety of audiences, including other designers, developers, business stakeholders
Proven ability to work as part of a team; proactive at asking questions and eliciting feedback, etc.
Well-organized and effective time management
Provide weekly and monthly progress reports and attend weekly internal product meetings
Preferred Skills
Experience with information architecture
Experience using website analytics and data to uncover patterns and areas to focus on
Ability to perform qualitative / quantitative user research to understand user needs and goals and uncover usability issues
The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $55 to $62.50 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match.
