Job Description:
Manhattan Based In house Design Agency is looking for an End-to-end digital experience designer (swiss-army knife design generalist) with 7+ years of experience. There are 2 positions available, one Lead role and one Contributor role that will require less years of experience.
Hybrid on site 3 days a week in the office in Manhattan.
Must have a sample of work where you were involved from end to end that you can share in an interview.
Responsibilities
- Participating in and/or leading mixed methods “fuzzy front end” product conception research
- Translate consumer and business objectives into purposeful and simple products and product ecosystems that are feasible to build
- Guide the design process from end-to-end: discovery and concept ideation, flows, and wireframes, to full-fidelity prototypes
- Mastery of UI + UX design AND research best practices
- Lead evaluative and generative UX design research
- Visual storytelling
- Workshop and design sprint facilitation
- Ability to lead end-to-end design workstreams w/ complex cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of what it takes to launch an MVP
- Experience with connected devices
- Proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma, AdobeXD, Sketch, MURAL, etc.
Soft Skills
- Design workstream leadership through collaboration, as part of a larger cross-functional team
- Ability to partner closely with program managers to ensure on-time, high quality delivery
- Ability to “speak the languages” of tech, business, R+D, marketing, etc.
- Ability to mentor and grow jr design talent on projects
- Ability to prioritize and simplify complexity
- Champions and educates about the value of design for innovation
- Ability to influence process and approach on cross functional teams
- Takes initiative with confidence in an ambiguous environment
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
- Always thinks systemically and experientially
- Ability to work quickly and prioritize competing workstreams
- Willingness to think + lead strategically and get in the weeds and do the work
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40 to $70/ hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
