The Product & Design team conceptualizes, designs and creates the content experiences for some of the company's most visible products. Your vision could drive the vast quantity of photo research that populates every one of them. Strong communication skills are required, as is resourcefulness, ingenuity in solving problems, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and cope with rapid change. Not least, you will need to be dedicated to the company's high standards of quality. We are seeking a seasoned Photo Editor with deep expertise in all types of photo research and licensing to join our creative team and support editorial photography and video. You’re a true photography lover with an encyclopedic knowledge of all types of photography including historic/archival, fine art, conceptual, still life, fashion and celebrity portraiture. You’re also a conceptual wizard, able to synthesize creative input into visual solutions, and you dig much deeper than stock houses to find the right image, going directly to photographers and galleries to get great art. When it comes to licensing, you’re masterful at price negotiations, contract execution, and final art delivery, taking your research across the finish line every time.

Key Qualifications:

  • A well-developed aesthetic that connects with company photography and video, and the portfolio to prove it including examples of photo/video research that reflect a consistent
  • A+ taste level and excellent execution 
  • Broad knowledge of photographers across many genres including portraiture, fine art, conceptual and more 
  • Familiarity with all types of sources for existing photography including stock houses large and small, as well as galleries and artists’ personal projects 
  • Knowledge of image rights, contract negotiation and legal clearance processes for licensed content 
  • Flexibility and instant willingness to jump in when research is needed, even when the timeline is short 
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Highly collaborative, great to work with on a team, and instinctively understand the value of building great relationships 

Additional Requirements:

  • 5+ years relevant photo editing or multimedia experience; bonus for tours in publishing, magazines, music labels & entertainment studios or the creative agencies that serve those industries 
  • Flexibility to accommodate travel when needed
  • Passionate about the brand and relentless in preserving its authenticity

  • Degree in BS/BA Art, Photography, Art History, or Communication preferred

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $47.66 to $52.96. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match (if applicable)
