Job Description:

Our client, a global and iconic coffee  brand, is seeking a freelance store designer. This is a a 6 month assignment, 40 hours a week, hybrid in office 2-3 times per month in the downtown Chicago regional office.

This position primarily  supporting the regional store design process to create outstanding new studio solutions and design standards to help propel our work with consistency in support of disciplined growth and portfolio  This role supports or leads and produces accurate design documents, including architectural drawings and material specifications while upholding schedule and operational
requirements.This person will be responsible for store design solutions, Programs and initiatives, working autonomously under a Sr. Design manager to develop design solutions for the stores, Patio enhancements Success for the business in the stores.

Key projects:
• Key market/ Midwest regional based stores. Potential for Chicago/ Minnesota stores as well

- Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
- Current knowledge of industry trends in retail store and restaurant design including furniture and finishes
- Current working knowledge of building and health codes and compliance issues
- Demonstrated 3D visualization ability and working knowledge of color and design principles
- Ability to balance design, with operational needs and budget objectives resulting in exceptional store environments
- Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate design with hand sketches/drawings
- Skilled in the visual, written and verbal communication of design issues
- Ability to translate stated design principles / objectives into unique and varied store locations
- Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document production
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organizational skills; attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and rendering programs such as Enscape
- BIM experience

• Anyone who has good graphic design and work samples, interests in art/ sustainability. Artistic hobbies and abilities are nice to see
• 3D tools and software
