Job Description:

This Documentation team is looking for a technical writer to document an end-to-end encrypted, enterprise communications service that enables secure one-to-one chats, group messaging, calling, file sharing, screen sharing, and data retention.
Ideally, you have a technical background that enables easy interaction with software developers and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation. Any experience you have with web services, Linux, XML, and Git is also a bonus. While we don’t expect you to be an expert in these areas, we hope you are excited to learn about them.
This documentation organization, writes and provides support for a diverse audience consisting of developers, DevOps professionals, IT professionals, technical program managers, and scientists. On behalf of our customers, we do much more than just write the docs. We innovate, we research, we learn, and we experiment. We collaborate with product managers to understand our customers’ needs. We partner with software developers to learn the inner workings of company services so that we can influence design and the customer experience. We know that what we do makes a difference in the successful adoption and implementation of services.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as a technical writer include creating conceptual information, step-by-step procedures, API descriptions, and example commands. Be one of the first to try new features as you work with developers and designers to improve the related user experience, UI text, error messages, and API design. Interact directly with customers and use their feedback to improve the documentation dynamically, then update and publish your documentation on demand. Work with peer writers and editors to improve your writing and grow professionally as a technical communicator.

Basic Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience designing and producing content for a technical audience, such as Software Engineers, System Administrators, or IT professionals

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with cloud and messaging services
- Experience working with XML, markdown, or HTML
- Familiarity with using and following a style guide
- Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web
- Experience designing, planning, and delivering content solutions that meet the needs of technical business customers
- Experience working directly with software engineering teams
