Research Analyst – Clean Energy Products

Location: This is a hybrid position where the employee will work remotely with travel to Michigan approximately 2 times per quarter.

Responsibilities: Be a bridge between internal customers and external evaluation and research consultants to communicate company needs and help oversee, manage, and communicate the results of survey, market research, and other analytic studies. This includes:

● Assist in coordinating with and managing top-tier external consulting firms to ensure research insights improve product planning and delivery, marketing, customer satisfaction, energy savings, peak demand reductions, environmental justice and equity, and overall performance of our energy waste reduction and demand response products, programs, and pilots.
● Ensure quality of vendor research processes, activities and, deliverables including reviewing and suggesting improvements to schedules, research plans, data collection, instruments, presentations, reports, and scorecards to maximize accuracy, quality, and value.
● Conduct primary and secondary research to identify trends and opportunities related to topics such as program evaluation, energy policy, energy savings, peak demand management, benefit-cost analysis, decarbonization, and equity.
● Develop research summaries and briefings in writing and using PowerPoint and other presentation formats to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
● Fulfill other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the client.
● Assist in administrative tasks including maintaining an organized and accessible database of research data and deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:
● Master’s degree (preferred) or a bachelor’s degree in an interdisciplinary field like Environmental Management, Energy Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, Evaluation, or a social science field such as (but not limited to) Sociology, Psychology, Economics or Marketing.
● Strong record of achievement, work ethic and ability to learn
● 2-3+ years academic training OR related work experience involving analytics and research in one or more of the following areas such as public policy, energy policy, sustainability or clean energy related topics
● Strong commitment/interest in a career focused on sustainability
● Excellent teamwork skills
● Strong attention to detail and passion for accurate, engaging, high-quality research
● Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills
● Willingness to travel to Michigan 1 to 2 times quarterly
● Would be a plus to have exposure to survey, statistical or data visualization software
