Our Healthcare client is looking for a Strategic Designer to champion the human centered design approach and influence the organization to put the patient first. It starts with asking the right questions and end with intuitive and delightful digital products and services. The designers are great storytellers, empathetic listeners, design geeks, and experts of their craft. You understand the profound impact design can have on a patient’s overall experience.
As a Strategic Designer within the Digital Team, you will help to create meaningful and cohesive end-to-end experiences for our patients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead UX design and research efforts for a digital product/initiative
  • Confidently present design concepts, clearly articulate ideas, and facilitate brainstorming sessions with leaders, developers, and stakeholders
  • Stay current with design trends and best practices, demonstrate out of the box thinking, and proactively level up the skills of others
  • Have a high attention to detail and solve a range of design challenges with little to no guidance
  • Create a wide variety of UX deliverables that fit the specific design challenge, including – whiteboard sketches, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Help execute responsive designs that maximize the user's experience on desktop and mobile devices
  • Conduct independent research and competitive analysis on multiple aspects of products and experiences from UX, product and strategy perspective.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing).
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, while also incorporating complex technical and business requirements.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Designs and executes user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including ethnographic studies, primary interviews, generative design research, usability studies, A/B testing
  • Designs, writes, and executes test plans and synthesizes them into actionable implications for product and design teams
  • Mastery of planning, conducting and synthesizing ethnographic studies and primary interviews with user/customers and major stakeholders
  • Bring your research and creative synthesis to life through personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios

Teamwork/Customer Relation Responsibilities

  • Conducting primary interviews and usability studies with current and prospective patients and internal stakeholders and leaders.

Team Lead/Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • May be asked to lead the design work stream within a program, project or initiative


  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in a design, psychology, or research field (or training/work experience that is equivalent)

Experience Details

  • 5+ yrs of relevant experience in ethnographic research, divergent exploration, concept development, and building products, gained from working in an innovation agency, startup, tech company or large organization.


  • Design research
    • Market trend analysis, primary interviews, ethnography studies, secondary research, competitor analysis, UI/UX tear downs, card sorting, surveys
  • Usability testing
    • Unmoderated usability testing, tree testing, A/B studies, use and analysis through analysis tools (e.g. hotjar, adobe analytics)
  • Research synthesis
    • Heuristic analysis, usability studies, personas, archetypes, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios
