Job Description:

This position will support our client's product teams and policy work related to international conflict and human rights challenges, and on health-related content issues.

The qualified individual will have a demonstrated track record of strong judgment, flexibility in the face of ambiguity, and proactive relationship management; an ideal candidate would also have a track record of experience in policy, tech/product development, or international and social impact areas such as global health or human rights.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Quickly develop an understanding of how our content moderation systems work (including Community Standards and Content Distribution Guidelines), especially as related to health and global risk response, and apply policy frameworks to new and evolving areas
  • Anticipating and articulating the risks, opportunities and impact of our policies and products, thinking globally and across a diverse spectrum of users
  • Supporting key projects related to our global integrity program
  • Counseling product teams working on health-related issues, as part of a robust cross-functional engagement model to solve problems, make trade offs, share policy perspectives, and bring improved products to our users

The work involves regularly evaluating significant trade-offs and navigating difficult decision-making, including under time pressure, and requires the ability to flex between strategic, big picture work on one hand, and detailed analysis on the other.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrates analytical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and of consensus-building, including managing multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with regularly handling and prioritizing multiple complex projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in Policy, Law, Media, Technology, or related field of study
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in policy, technology, law, academia, not-for-profit, or government, with an emphasis on platforms and technology, content delivery and consumption, or online content moderation.
  • Experience working internationally.
  • Experience in the fields of health, international development, conflict resolution, or human rights
  • Experience of making policy.
  • Experience working in or with the technology industry, especially on issues of online expression and content moderation.
