Our client is looking for a Social Media Manager. The team is an initiative focused on telling the story of design, sharing our best practices, and bringing our community of design teams together. The broad creative organization is multidisciplinary, blending capabilities in design, research, strategy, and creative. We add a new dimension to the brand, scaling and reinforcing the value our design capabilities brings to our customers, and that design as a practice can bring to society. We are looking for an experienced social media manager to bring our company’s unique design philosophy, Relationship Design, to life to designers across the world.

DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a person to help plan and oversee the development of our design community. In this role, you will manage our social media presence on LinkedIn and Twitter, and external design trailblazers groups, and work with our team to facilitate meaningful engagement amongst these communities.

You will work with a creative marketing team who is responsible for building brand awareness and driving design education through content marketing. Your day to day includes planning and executing digital marketing content, collaborating across the team and company, and responding to community members across digital channels.

You recognize the societal power held by design, technology, and business, and are motivated to use your voice to advocate for social responsibility within these spaces. You are comfortable and skilled in writing about race, gender, class, and ability. You are familiar with the design or creative industries and have some fluency and understanding of design processes, tools and the platform (and a willingness to learn more). Able to forge a path forward leaning on experimentation (failing and learning and moving forward).

Driving traffic towards curriculum and design certification (brand new!).

YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

  • Overseeing all activities related to our social channels and community groups
  • Cultivate engagement with content across a range of audiences
  • Writing, editing, and curating thought-provoking original content across blog and social media channels and community groups
  • Align & maintain brand voice and across all content and channels
  • Co-lead social calendar management, team workflow & dependencies
  • Co-create social performance metrics, and actively manage support metrics and analytics
  • Managing multiple experiments and outreach within a new environment and a matrix of stakeholders
  • Collaborating with a cross-functional team of creatives, strategists, designers and researchers.
  • Bridging the Design messaging with the day-to-day practice of our design community


YOU HAVE

  • At least 2 years social media content management
  • At least 2 year social media community management experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using social media management platforms and/or digital marketing platforms
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign
  • Proficient with video creation/editing for social media and the web (GIFs, Stories, etc.,)
  • Expert experience working in a Mac environment
  • Design and tech industry knowledge and interest. You’re plugged into what’s trending at the intersection of design, business, and technology.
  • Social-impact orientation. You’re excited to use your voice to advocate for design and business’ responsibility to shape a more inclusive, equitable, ethical, and sustainable future.
  • Ability to interpret creative direction, follow brand tone and style guides, and maintain a learner’s mindset.
  • Creative thinker who can not only identify gaps or opportunities, but also offers ways to address them. When you encounter obstacles, you find an effective solution with a positive mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for building relationships and making connections, in service of helping others develop their careers and adding a new Persona to our ecosystem.
  • Portfolio is required
