The role of SEO Manager is responsible for supporting the overall acceleration of the direct-to-consumer (DTC) eCommerce and eMarketing online businesses for the
portfolio of brands within this beauty/cpg company
Specifically, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to, owning, and directing the following
workstreams:
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Website Performance & Improvement (Website Speed, Load Times)
• Sales Reporting & Website Analytics

This role will play a pivot role in the division’s online acceleration and specifically be responsible for
directing, overseeing, and managing the overall search engine optimization strategy, tactics, and
learnings for both eCommerce and eMarketing websites within PPD.

This involves running keyword research through various platforms, providing search insights to brand
stakeholders, supporting all onsite initiatives through an SEO lens, and recommending micro-content
updates across the websites. This individual will be responsible for understanding industry and platform
best practices, and then framing the proper SEO strategy based on brand priorities and executing the
on-site implementation of this strategy for the portfolio of brand websites.

This role will also lead all website performance tactics including technical and content optimization for
improving website speed and page load times, decreasing page weight through optimized asset and
3rd party tag delivery.

The ideal candidate must be able to clearly articulate issues within SEO and website performance and
create actionable plans to resolve any issues through internal business stakeholders and external
vendors. This individual must also understand how to optimize content across eRetail (Amazon, ULTA,
Sephora) websites, with a focus on working with eRetail business partners to provide best practices
and recommendations to improving on-site search performance.
Additionally, this candidate must be able to formulate and implement an actionable plan for utilizing
multivariate testing (MVT) for the brand websites. The insights gained from the MVT must be leveraged
to help improve the overall user experience on each brand website.
The ideal candidate will function as the leader of all eCommerce and eMarketing strategy and tactics
to help drive more traffic to the brand website, increase average order value and conversion rate for
eCommerce websites. This means that the candidate must have a deep understanding of Google
Analytics and channel sales strategy to recommend corporate and business stakeholders of
improvements that can be made to help drive additional online sales.

Finally, this role will be the overall owner of the Division’s key bet strategy for special projects ranging
from, but not limited to, Salesforce to Sitecore implementations. They will be the Division’s internal
project management expert with a focus on working in an Agile mindset with corporate and business
stakeholders to frame the Division’s product roadmap to align with a best-in-class user experience for
the brand website.
As detailed above, this role drives collaboration in an Agile mindset and influences multiple levels of
leadership to execute on the following key deliverables & responsibilities:
• Report channel specific KPIs, and provide analysis on technical and content updates on a
weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
• Working with external vendors and internal business stakeholders to review and analyze DTC
and eMarketing websites for areas that can be improved and optimized
• Preparing detailed strategy plans centered upon channel best practices, brand identity and
language, semantic code, and ongoing consumer behavior trends and search priorities
• Identifying keywords to drive the most valuable traffic to both DTC and eMarketing websites
• Recommending meta content (titles, descriptions, etc.) for the website to rank highly on the
first page of the search engine results page
• Working with brand and business stakeholders to write strong call to actions to acquire and
convert visitors through SEO tactics
• Working with Global Marketing (DMI) and US Marketing teams to create an effective SEO
content strategy for blogs, websites, and social media accounts
• Developing link building strategies, including backlinking from owned L’Oréal properties and
external partnerships
• Analyzing keywords and SEO techniques used by competitors and providing insights and
recommendations on how to combat any risks or threats (SWOT analysis)
• Keeping updated on the latest and cutting-edge SEO strategies to stay at the forefront of SEO
innovation
• Serve as the champion for SEO upskilling within the PPD division by compiling and presenting
SEO guidelines & best practices at required meetings (MANCOM, SMM, etc.)
• Collaborate with business owners and Digital Operations teams to provide insights on how to
optimize products and content
• Project manage the implementation of new tactics, processes and programs related to SEO
• Responsible for customer relationship manager with business partners and platforms, by acting
as main Divisional point of contact for CDMO, Google, BrightEdge, among other platforms
• Work closely with Division Digital Operations teams to highlight drivers of decreased channel
performance and develop action plans to increase traffic to drive website sales
• Close collaboration with the centralized corporate team (CDMO) and other counterparts
across the organization to share learnings
• Support brand website digital teams to flag gaps/increases per channel to ensure
daily/weekly/monthly sales plans are met

Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) with 7+ years prior experience in content marketing, content growth
and SEO, and indirect eCommerce/eRetail businesses (Agile certification a plus)
• Experience implementing content & website optimization with focus on managing complexity
across multiple large projects that touch many stakeholders
• Ability to lead projects, meetings, presentations to effectively analyze and translate data into
actionable business plans
• Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices and experience with website
optimization tools
• Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work within a team and
independently
• Expertise with Google analytics, Google Search Console, Brightedge, Screaming Frog, Moz,
SEMRush

• Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills with the ability to manipulate
large sets of data
• A positive attitude and passion for building businesses; entrepreneurial drive and a self-starter
