Our client, a leading global video publisher who produces compelling journalism in new formats, is looking for a Head of Branded Content to assist in leading the US growth after becoming the most-watched news publisher on social media in Europe and South Asia.  In addition to publishing, the company is at the forefront of building a safe and premium ecosystem for creators with a suite of products such as streaming services and lives. This person, who will report to the VP North America, will be expected to propose and drive creative solutions for brands, oversee the production of videos and ensure they comply with the company’s high editorial standards, and lead a growing team.

What you will do:

  • Define brand content video strategy in conjunction with the sales and editorial leadership
  • Build a 2022 roadmap using company’s strengths to address US market needs.
  • Proactively identify market opportunities, research clients and develop compelling content to reach them
  • Design, develop and execute content guardrails aligned with company values
  • Effectively pitch ideas to brands and lead client calls as the creative head of the company
  • Innovate new formats and video solutions for clients
  • Set expectations early and clearly to ensure deliverables are met, and exceeded
  • Hire, manage and mentor a brand content team
  • Oversee the work of the brand team including approving scripts and videos
  • Implement workflow processes developed with the sales and editorial teams to ensure quality content is produced on time
  • Organize the team to address client needs effectively and produce content seamlessly whether it’s through sourced footage or filming in studio or on location
  • Efficiently use global company resources to monetize, have maximum impact, and ensure repeat business

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years experience at a digital media company or media agency including experience meeting objectives in a similar role
  • Creative self-starter who is quick to adapt and gets things done
  • Well-developed network of brands and clients in the US market
  • Ability to motivate staff and lead teams effectively
  • Client facing experience with ability to think out of the box
  • Journalistic impulses to verify content, find the strongest angle, and tell a good story
  • Thoughtful about social media platform-specific distribution of content
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Calm under pressure and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Process oriented with excellent organizational skills to successfully oversee monetized projects from start to finish
  • Startup experience a plus
