Our client, an innovative oil and energy company, is hiring another Sr. Photographer & Videographer to capture and edit high-quality, customer-facing live action videos and photography for the corporate marketing department. Technical expertise in 4K capture, editing, and output workflows is required. A strong understanding of the fundamentals in video production as well as intermediate to expert knowledge in photo and video editing software are required. Overall, they favor a photojournalistic style that features action-oriented people conveying seriousness and commitment in environments associated with energy, technology, and global presence.

The most important aspects of the position are the ability to operate, maintain and manage professional photography & video equipment.  To work seemlessly in a variety of environments both onsite and offsite.  The blending of technical proficiency, artistic eye and producing the highest quality products is paramount in this position.


  • Work with others on the creative team to ensure that marketing collateral is completed on brand, on time, and to quality standards 
  • Recommend best practices and creative ideas to meet project needs
  • Present production plans to stakeholders and keep stakeholders informed of project status
  • Create detailed shot lists to optimize filming schedule and achieve vision for project script and storyboard
  • Operate, maintain, and set up all photography, video, audio, and lighting equipment
  • Pack and transport equipment, including cameras, tripods, lighting, microphones, and other associated equipment to filming locations
  • Select optimal video, lighting, and audio equipment for each project or setting
  • Capture live action footage in many environments, including indoor, outdoor, domestic, and international locations
  • During filming, work with on-screen talent, script writer, Art Director or video producer
  • Adhere to company safety standards and filming safety protocols
  • Advanced editing for a variety of projects, including dailies (raw, unedited footage shot on-site), syncing audio to video footage, assembly cut, and rough cut up to final cut
  • Manage media by importing and backing up all media files; add metadata and description for media assets and upload to internal digital asset management (DAM) system
  • Export, compress, and upload videos and photographs to internal and external internet sites; provide guidance on best practices for encoding and bit rate for various hosting platforms
  • Handle administrative responsibilities associated with projects, including project management, file organization, and archiving


  • Skilled in all aspects of cinematography, including image capture, audio (boom and lavalier microphones), and lighting (continuous and strobe)
  • Ability to direct talent to capture dynamic shots, per project specifications
  • Photography—portraits and headshots, products, special events, and environments (e.g. manufacturing and office facilities, installations, well sites)
  • Video—executive business updates, scripted videos, unscripted interviews or panel discussions, integrated videos combining live action with motion graphics or 3D animation, general B-roll footage
  • Adobe Creative Cloud—intermediate to expert level in Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects
  • Camera systems—experience using Sony mirrorless camera systems or Blackmagic Pocket Cinema systems preferred; Canon and Panasonic camera systems experience considered
  • Experience with shooting RAW, JPEG, and video file formats, including LOG, MP4, and MOV
  • Teamwork—ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Marketing Communications, executives, and external customers or partners to execute projects
  • Creative input—develop style frames, concepts, and storyboards; contribute to scriptwriting and overall storytelling from a visual perspective
  • Stakeholder customer service—ability to present clear ideas, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and fully manage assigned projects with a customer service mindset


  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree or in photography, videography, or related field; in lieu of a Bachelor's or Associate degree, 8 years’ experience in videography, photography, or video/photography editing is required
  • 5+ years of experience in photography and videography
  • Strong demo reel(s) or samples of work showcasing high-quality examples of photography, videography, and video editing
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international)
  • Strong creative input, teamwork, project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Exemplifies professionalism to staff and internal clients
  • Adaptable and flexible to project changes


  • DaVinci Resolve for color correction and color grading
  • Knowledge and experience in working with aerial footage; FAA drone certified (preferred, but not required)
  • Knowledge and experience in audio editing and sound design, including editing voiceovers, producing, or selecting music, and applying sound effects
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling with experience in creative direction
  • Experience filming in professional studios with professional, hired on-camera talent
  • Working knowledge of 6K and 8K video production workflows
