Schedule / Duration: Long term, 40 hrs per week

Aquent Studios is seeking a Writer / Editor who is  immersed in the creative world and actively engaged with creative culture!  

 

Relevant experience:

The Editor will have a background writing engaging, accessible, long-form editorial copy about creativity and creative culture for publications, agencies, or other avenues. The Editor will also have professional experience editing other people's copy.  The creative community audience will have interests in photography, illustration, design, UX/UI, and videography.  

 

Requirements: 

 Must be:

  •  Actively engaged with creative culture and able to express a cultural perspective in writing

  • Tuned into pop culture and sensitive to relevant global conversations

  • Experienced at developing content ideas and crafting content that speaks to other creative people

  • Equally adept at collaborating and working independently

  •  Capable of juggling multiple projects and priorities

  • Must come from a creative studio environment 

 

 

 

For a typical project, the Editor attends meetings to gather input from Stakeholders, Studio Managers, Creative Directors, and Discover's Editor in Chief. Based on this input, the editor helps develop the expression of one or more pieces of content that meet the objectives of everyone involved.  

 

The Editor may interview the subjects and write the content; if the Editor assigns the project to another writer, the editor will perform developmental editing and copy-editing on the draft. The editor oversees aspects of content production, including gathering relevant artwork, reviewing page layouts with the web production team, and working closely with Studio Managers to maintain feedback continuity and keep the content on schedule. 


 

Candidates must submit current resume and their top content portfolio samples displaying a variety of editorial focused on creative arts / pop culture / entertainment.
