Content / Public Relations Manager (Milwaukee)

Location: Must be onsite 2-3 days per week, eventually in Milwaukee.

Pay: $40-45 / hourly - paid as W2

Duration: 6+ months, likely extension or conversion to FT

 

*This role is anticipated to have the candidate working on site in Milwaukee 2-3x per week.*

Global Communications and Public Relations/Social Media Manager

This Communications person needs to be very adaptable, they would be joining a very complex organization - there’s 4 brands - 75 countries

This role will focus heavily on Communications / Public Relations / Social Media. This writer/editor needs to be a generalist at times, strong in several areas, as the team they are joining is relatively small, but the breadth of work is expanding and covers several areas.

*Experience working with global markets is a huge plus for this role.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Writing and supporting all variations of internal corporate communications to drive consistent aligned messaging to support strategic priorities related to leadership announcements, country communications plans, business/sales storymining, and other communications priorities including cyber, innovation, MyPath, power awards and any other communications needs that arise.

• Creating compelling digital-first, external-facing content that supports brands, consumer, strategic priorities and grows Share of Voice via targeted verticals and audiences - including executive articles, blogs, social posts , web copy, presentations, press releases. Able to write long form, short form and social content.

• Management of media monitoring metrics and data-driven planning and recommendations

This role will report to the Director of Global Strategic Communications responsible for all generalist communications requirements across global and interacting with key markets. Writing / supporting corporate communications / internal corporate communications. Someone to take a broad idea, cull it down and educate the end user. always be working to educate / inform / ensure the proper tone/voice is reached and is consistent to other messaging and contentContent will start out as larger ideas with broader subject matter, this writer will need to shorten the content / making the end result a punchier way of communicating that content, more targeted to a particular end user. This writer should have an idea and interest in measuring the success of their content, an eye toward metrics/analytics. How did this messaging do this time around? What can we do better next time? This writer/editor needs to consider this analysis when working. Culling down from a macro message / down to smaller buckets of content

What you will need:

Versatile writing skills – from longer form blogs and op-eds to pithy social content, newsletters and optimized, engaging web copy.Proven talent for media relations including developing media strategy and media content, pitching stories, cultivating relationships with key outlets, supporting spokespeople and creating a narrative that generates buzz.Cool under pressure — able to manage competing requests and deliver great content and PR support across multiple projects. Experience with issues and crises is a plus.Measurement expertise and to be massively motivated by real time data and the visibility of what works well and why.Strong relationship management capabilities to work across departments, levels and locations—we’re global and local. Strong people skills and the ability to get stuff done and bring others with you is critical.Bachelor’s Degree and several years of relevant communications experience.

Create compelling content – engaging messaging, press releases, bylined articles, social posts, presentations etc. - to achieve a consistent share of voice for our brands in the media.Develop engaging internal campaigns and content to inform, motivate and inspire our global employees on priority topics.Devour our Thought Leadership to create yet more compelling content that works from long form to shortest form across channels that work for clients, candidates and employeesBe the first point of contact for our global press office, monitoring media enquiries, preparing spokespeople and liaising with the media.Manage partner agencies to create great content including film, web copy and social. Bring inspiring ideas to the communications and marketing teams, global and in country, and collaborate with agencies, partners and vendors to help our thought leadership stand out in the global media.
