We are hiring a Sr. UX Designer. Come be part of an innovative team that believes in digging deeper to figure out how technology should work for our retail partners (employees). We’re looking for a senior user experience designer to join our team and likes to work in all facets of human centered design and user experience. 

Remote/local are ok as long as they work PST hours

1 Experience with iOS mobile interaction design 5+ years
2 professional experience as a key, hands-on user experience designer of a UX/UI team through the product development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software applications 5+ years
3 Comfortable collaborating with engineering 5+ years


Org Unit: Engineering - Digital Workplace Partner Digital Products - UX and Design

Is it a large or small team?: 10 people

Team culture: close-knit, collaborative

Key projects: The product is called Playbuilder and is used by our retail stores across North America to help shift supervisors and baristas plan out their day.
Purpose of this team: This team is focused on effectively forecasting and enabling talent sharing for our partners (employees) in stores across North America.
Reason for the request: Supplement additional workload on team

Daily schedule:
• Needs to be competent in all of facets of the design process, and exceptionally talented and skilled in Interaction and Information Architecture Design.
• Must be competent in iOS Interaction design
• A well-rounded UX/UI professional who connects the dots between business needs, innovation, and good design.
• Experienced at driving a user experience from start-to-finish that delivers results, connects emotionally.
• Obsessed with good user-centered design practices and have an eye for detail.
• Experienced at creating and revising information architecture documents and diagrams including but not limited to: user flows, wireframes, and static prototypes.
• Passionate about understanding (and keeping the team and clients informed about) current and emerging UX/UI trends for iOS engineering. Catalyst experience a plus.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in a product organization, driving design from planning to release over multiple releases.
• Collaborates with product management to define features and how they map to customer and business need.
• Works closely with the scrum team to drive design to fruition
• Deliver multiple concurrent products
• Prioritizes own work and contributes to the prioritization of team’s work and projects.
• Be a strong user advocate

Candidate Requirements

Technology requirements?:
• Proficiency of Figma, Sketch or XD.
• Knowledge in prototyping with Axure and other tools.
• Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
• Familiar with Dropbox and MS Teams, able to collaborate and share work.
• Portfolio required.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in design or related field preferred
• 5+ years experience.
Degree or certifications required?: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical work experience in User Experience and Content Strategy.

Preferred background?:
• Experience working in a team environment, closely collaborating with product manager.
• professional experience as a key, hands-on user experience designer of a UX/UI team through the product development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software applications.
• Creating and walking stakeholders through user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, usability studies, and other design deliverables
• Impeccable written and verbal communication
• Proven ability to present to all levels
• Experience working in an agile development
• Proficient using
• Ability to learn from critique, apply feedback and be able to critique other products
• Has experience designing for retail partners (employees)
• Proficient using project tracking systems (i.e. JIRA)
• Good verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Experienced at driving a user experience initiatives from start-to-finish that delivers results, connects emotionally at the Enterprise level across multiple teams.
• Needs to be competent in all of facets of the design process, and exceptionally talented and skilled in Insights gathering and Information Architecture Design.
• A well-rounded UX/UI professional who connects the dots between business needs, innovation, and good design and has worked with vendors.
• Experienced at creating and revising information architecture documents and diagrams including but not limited to journey maps, content diagrams, content maps, wire frame diagrams, comprehensive diagrams and static prototypes
• Passionate about understanding (and keeping the team and clients informed about) current and emerging UX/UI trends.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in a product organization, driving design from planning to release over multiple releases.
• Collaborates with product management to define features and how they map to customer and business need.
• Works closely with the scrum team to drive design to fruition
• Demonstrated ability work in a fast-paced design environment with multiple delivery teams

Requirements
• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in scrum teams and drives the UX strategy with product team.
• A portfolio of UX work submitted with your application, demonstrating how you bring users through the entire design process.
• A gifted generalist who can craft everything from broad content strategy to concise design
• A quick, iterative writer who can partner with Design Research and Operations to understand our users and speak to their needs
• A good communicator, in-person and over video calls
• Great cross-functional collaborator—able to give and get feedback from Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Operations Team
• Someone with a passion for defining new processes and shaping new products
• Understand SharePoint
• Must be able to drive progress!

Preferred Qualifications:
• A master’s degree in interaction design, human computer interaction, or related UX degree
• Demonstrated history of performing user research or gathering quantitative customer data
