Software Engineer Narrative {12-month contract, Redmond WA-Remote OK, must Relocate}
343 Industries, the developer of the Halo series of video games, is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Narrative engineering team. Our team enables Halo storytellers to create story and cinematic experiences that thrill fans and inspires them to believe in the power of heroism.

Network Requirement
During WFH or if remote, the following is required for this type of position:
​Internet speed of at least 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps, wired connection preferred, to ensure work is not impacted by connectivity/latency issues
Internet data is at a high or unlimited cap
Make sure to run and repeat speed tests throughout the day, as it can fluctuate during peak hours
Candidates must provide a screenshot of their speed test result
Agency must include speed test screenshot as part of the submission process for consideration
If candidate does not currently meet the network requirement:
Candidate is committing to meeting the network requirement by their start date if an offer is received and mutually accepted

Own and maintain Slipspace engine systems behind cutting-edge AAA narrative features and systems
Collaborate closely with designers and content creators to deliver AAA narrative experiences
Design and implement new narrative features and systems, from prototype to completion
Extend and improve existing Slipspace narrative systems
Team with other developers across the studio to deliver amazing results
Work with team leads and production to estimate, track, and scope work across all phases of the project
Fix bugs and solve issues that stand in the way
Consistently deliver professional, top-quality results
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
4+ years of professional experience with C++
Experience with Lua, particularly as an embedded scripting language
Experience working with multithreaded game engines Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred
Professional experience on one or more shipped current-generation AAA titles
Communication, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Passion for creating great experiences for players
Experience with audio systems, dialogue, and subtitles
Experience with agile development processes and task-tracking systems such as Jira or Azure DevOps
