This media and entertainment team is looking for an experienced Product and UX Designer to support one of the largest tech companies in the world! We need previous experience designing Operating Systems, ideally within a TV Streaming product environment. You are passionate about making devices accessible for all users, you bring a more technical background to the team, (i.e. understand how Bluetooth pairing interacts with the system and subsequent design elements need to tie in), and you are a problem solver who knows how to get stakeholder buy-in!
•Independently lead the TV OS UX workstream, supporting all the day to day UX needs as well as creating the vision/strategy for TV OS.
•Create a robust, coherent, useful, and usable design system that meets the needs of 3rd party and 1st party products for TV platforms.
•Provide a strong visual design perspective, showcasing a fluency with expressing branding within digital product or service experiences.
•Continuously explore new modes of visual communication that meet the changing needs of our users (both designers/developers and end-users) in ways that are delightful, understandable, and accessible.
•Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional product development team to present ideas and designs, partner with engineering to implement, writers and editors to author and revise content, and researchers to validate design decisions.
•Collaborate effectively with a truly distributed cross-functional product/engineering team.
What to expect: As a designer on Systems, you will concentrate on the evolution of the Design Language for Television. You work with fellow UXers from a diversity of backgrounds to advocate for all of our users, from internal product designers and developers to external partners who adopt the client’s platform.
You may be the right person if:
•You are passionate about Operating Systems and Accessibility.
•You understand how OS works and are impressed by the complexity.
•You are passionate about television, media and entertainment.
•You are a strong collaborator and can comfortably work with product management and engineering to get things done.
•You are serious about confidentiality - our launches impact not just the client but their partners and their business too.
•Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial) or equivalent practical experience.
•7 years of experience in a User Experience (UX) Design role.
•Design experience for television or design systems.
•Strong visual design sense that compliments the ability to think about large scale design systems.
•Experience/understanding of design for constrained hardware e.g, low computational power and/or constrained surfaces such as wearables
•Knowledge of the full product design stack e.g., can take a design from wireframe to interactive code
•Candidate has demonstrable experience contributing to the overall product vision and strategy and shows how they push creativity, challenge established thinking, and discover new ways of approaching design
