Job Description:

One of the fastest growing global automotive companies is seeking a Sr. Workplace Architect/Design Manager to join/develop a growing team designing innovative workplace interiors to foster creativity and employee workplace satisfaction. This position is a 12 month temporary to hire role for the ideal talent who will be able to work onsite in Fremont, CA and travel as needed both nationwide and internationally. 


  • Lead collaborative design teams, working closely with design studio and team to establish effective project work plans with attainable project objectives meeting all branding standards and esthetic 
  • Plan and lead high level design meetings with various stakeholders and VPs 
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Manage all phases of workplace interiors projects, from project set-up through design and construction administration 
  • Help prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process
  • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with clients, sub-consultants, vendors and contractors
  • Actively support sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit sustainable and resilient design solutions
  • Track financial performance of projects
  • Ensure proper execution of all local building codes and regulations 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience leading workplace interiors and planning projects for global companies
  • A minimum of 10 - 15 years of related experience
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skills
  • Commitment to collaborative design process
  • Experience negotiating project scopes, fees, and schedules
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards (California preferred)
  • Proficiency with PM software: MS project a plus
  • Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
  • LEED accreditation is preferred
