Our team drives two work streams. Our vision is to provide intuitive, rich, and ubiquitous first-person experiences to assist users with real world information needs, both while they plan and when they’re out in the real world. Street View is one of the most popular features in our Maps and is used by over 20M people every day around the world to explore new places, confirm details about a destination or even to revisit places they have been before. Live View will help you orient, discover and ultimately interact with what’s around you in a natural and seamless way, in outdoor and indoor public spaces. We believe AR experiences provide critical last-mile insights and can dramatically reduce the stress of getting around.

We’re looking for a UI designer to work with us in the Views team focusing on our Street View and Live View efforts. This role will involve production-oriented visual design with an emphasis on extending and reconciling new UI patterns with existing Terra guidelines and collaborating with Geo Studio to expand the design system when necessary. Collaborating closely with other UI designers to scale exploration of potential design directions, and achieving design consistency cross platform.

Job Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the UX leads, Motions Designers, Prototypers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to execute product priorities.
Effectively document and communicate designs through the creation and maintenance of high quality design mockups, flows, prototypes, and specs.
Create designs using best practices and components from shared libraries, while pushing the level of design craftsmanship and adhering to or extending accessibility guidelines.
Create new UI patterns where necessary by working closely with our studios to extend the map design system.
Translate designs into highly polished experiences which scale across devices.
Work with the eng team to ensure all work is built to spec.
3-5 years of relevant mobile UI design experience. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers throughout the design process; creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. Solid communication & presentation skills. Confident in the process of concepting, iteration, and polished design execution. Strong working knowledge of industry tools such as Figma, Sketch. Portfolio highlighting multiple projects that demonstrates experiences crafting usable digital interfaces.
Experience working with 3D environments Familiar with accessibility best practices Experience in working with research Motion design skills
